How can anyone here argue that the console is popular in Europe when it is quite obvious that the Gamecube has sold more already. The poorer than expected sales in Japan and Europe will definetly have a negetive effect on the wordwide future of the console. Why would developers want to make games for a console which has the lowest user-base of the three next-gen consoles?

Well, if all the fan boys bought a GC at launch why has the cube been the top selling console in the US for the past month...

The Playstation got in because of its good strategy to make games "cool", introducing them to other age groups that would normally see games as being for kids.
This of course has led to Sony having a fanbase too so the job of getting into the games market is all the more harder. The big challenge is getting past the fanboys who will call the X-Box crap because they are blindly defending their favourite company and also getting around the casual gamers who only see Sony as an option because it is the name that made videogames cool to play - this in turn means that the PS2 is the "in" thing to have as far as consoles go.
So really, many of these casual gamers don't know anything about the X-Box's capabilities and what they can do with games while the fanboys simply don't WANT to know.

Please do, I'm interested in what you've got to say about Nintendo's games. (That's games exclusive to GameCube, don't mention multiformat games as otherwise you'll have to mean it for the same games on Playstation 2 and X-box)
