The "Xbox Games" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
How can anyone here argue that the console is popular in Europe when it is quite obvious that the Gamecube has sold more already. The poorer than expected sales in Japan and Europe will definetly have a negetive effect on the wordwide future of the console. Why would developers want to make games for a console which has the lowest user-base of the three next-gen consoles?

I have played Halo (not for too long granted), it was great, however I didn't think it was the greatest game ever when I was playing it. It may have well been the best launch for some people's tastes, but what if I don't like FPS games (like Halo), then there was very little groundbreaking stuff on Xbox release. You're bound to give me a list of groundbreaking titles, well fine, that's your opinion, stop acting like no-one elses opinion apart from yours and some games critics are worth anything!

*Despite the fact that Metroid Prime got best game of E3 overall...? They may well have given it best release schedule, but what does it matter? I can't afford to buy even half the games that come out on any system, I will only buy the best games in my eyes that come out. In my eyes the GameCube has many more titles which I could ONLY GET ON THE GAMECUBE that I actually want than the Xbox has exclusives. I can go buy Halo on my PC when it's out, I'm not gonna shell out £200 + the cost of the game just to play Halo when I have a perfectly good PC. *I am not jealous of you, I'm annoyed that you think it is fine to start blatently biased topics against the GameCube whichever forum it's in. Even if me 'and that other one...' didn't come here defending the GameCube, I doubt the other Xbox fans (unless they were as biased as you) would appreciate you just mindlessly slating other consoles, as you say you would probably much prefer to be talking about more interesting stuff. This trend is beginning to kick in worldwide. Where the Gamecube is selling the most of the three on a weekly basis in Europe.. where some shops are taking pre-orders for every stock delivery they get it (a first ever in console history). Also in Japan where Resident Evil and the news of Final Fantasy and Zelda remakes has helped push the GameCube sales up incredibly.

Each individual gamer can make up their own mind about which console is better for them, which has the most games they are looking forward to, and the best quality games in their opinion. Because of this quoting figures is not going to change anyones mind, except some mindless sheep who buys what everyone else is. The best way to make someone respect the console you like best is tell them about some great games on it, rather than tell them how their console doesn't have a huge hard drive, or it's controller is as big as your house, or it has nothing but sequels on it. Just insulting another console unprovoked just makes you look stupid.

Computers you CAN compare because they have the same games available to them, blah blah, same accessories, same internet options, etc. The only difference between buying two PCs (assuming they are new...) will be the stats, eg. processor, sound and graphics cards, hard drive, blah blah. Are consoles the same...?!? NO! Consoles each have very different games for each one, GameCube has lots of exclusive games on it, as does Xbox and PS2, and all share some common games too. That was a poor analysis. What makes a PC better than another is the stats and figures, what makes a console better is the games on it, which can't be compared as tastes will vary, therefore no one can definitively say which console is best, it will differ from person to person.
