Could you refrain from placing your forehead right on the bridge of his nose ? ;-))
The X-Box is doing very well in the States. In Japan things have been slow but by the sounds of it, the Japanese have warmed to Halo's arrival which is very impressive when FPS games have never done well there in the past (over any format). So things may start to pick up.
As for Europe, it seems to be selling well here while not doing so well in the surrounding countries. Again though it seems that things are gradually picking up - no doubt thanks to the price drop.
I think the time around Christmas will be the point to start looking at sales figures as by then, all consoles will have more games out. X-Box is due to have 200 games by that time. As for Nintendo, by the looks of the line up its not much different from the N64 before it - in the titles and the quantity. Ninties scream and stamp their feet about all the support the GC has and how many games are on the way, yet I own a GC and I see next to sod all on the way. A few games that I would buy are coming on the X-Box too, so naturally I'll buy the X-Box version because it'll be better - even if it is just graphical and sound areas I'd still be paying the same price.
As for support - the third party companies obviously don't seem to share your outlook to the X-Box because there is plenty of support for the console including the Japanese. Capcom have some nice games coming along and personally I think the X-Box is getting the lion's share of the quality Sega titles. Then you have the likes of Konami, Namco, Koei, etc.
Many third parties have expressed how easy it is to make games on the X-Box and how its capabilities allow them to do things with games that the other 2 consoles won't.
And then of course theres the online plans.
You see Microsoft are going out to cover all areas of gaming. They're long term goal is to have games for everyone no matter what age. Nintendo are happy to just throw new graphics on old games. X-Box has plenty of titles coming out from existing games, but at least theres a good number of projects with excellent ideas being used thanks to the X-Box's capabilities.
I think the biggest step Nintendo are taking is to make Metroid an FPS style game - oh and Miyamoto smoked up Pikmin, wow.....pant wetting.....
So basically you can whine and stamp your feet as much as you like, still doesn't change the fact that X-Box has more potential in it to bring out some truly stunning games.
