"I'm resigning from the election"

Ortega has just brough it to my attention that, in the last hour of voting, several newbies (some of which have only posted 4 times before), jumped out and voted for me. Due to the closeness of the vote, I cannot possibly allow Pro Evo, Monkey Man or anyone else to lose out just because some idiots have been cheating the voting process.

So, as of now, I'm pulling out.

Just to reitterate what I've said in another topic:

"What's all this nonsense about newbies voting. Although most newbies are excellent posters, it only takes 2 days to become a newbie. So, I can set up an account on Monday and vote on Wednesday. Not only that, but many newbies have voted for the people they have done not on the basis of that person's posts, but on the campaign they've run and peer pressure. Not at all the way it should be done- newbies just haven't been here long enough to make an accurate judgment in most cases.

Although the notables having 2 votes each is a good point."

Heh, I still laugh about that.

Neo, I don't know about the clocks problem, by WM's vote should be counted- it was at 12pm SR time. Either way, does it matter if it was really 12:05? HE just wanted to make things interesting and, even though he might be ouside the time, he hasn't done any harm

So his 2 votes go to PRo Evo, who wins (according to the unoffficial count)

Dringo: 22
RastabillySkank: 9

Sonic, you speak sense..the voting wasn't clearly cut enough for some people, and the rules also werent 100% and with SR's clocks wrong the voting buggered up a bit at the end. I also think there some elements of mischief/fixing going on in the voting.

This was the first Notable election that i didn't stay until midnight, i sorta got some bad news which is why i wasn't here congratulating people...

I must say that this election has been a bit of a farce.
Firstly your point on the Newbie voting is very true and could and possibly has ruined the democratic process.
Secondly why does no one want to be Natable, many of the leaders such as SonicRav and Monkey_Man are dropping out. This could well leave someone with no real credit in the postition of Notability.
