Ortega has just brough it to my attention that, in the last hour of voting, several newbies (some of which have only posted 4 times before), jumped out and voted for me. Due to the closeness of the vote, I cannot possibly allow Pro Evo, Monkey Man or anyone else to lose out just because some idiots have been cheating the voting process.
So, as of now, I'm pulling out.
Just to reitterate what I've said in another topic:
"What's all this nonsense about newbies voting. Although most newbies are excellent posters, it only takes 2 days to become a newbie. So, I can set up an account on Monday and vote on Wednesday. Not only that, but many newbies have voted for the people they have done not on the basis of that person's posts, but on the campaign they've run and peer pressure. Not at all the way it should be done- newbies just haven't been here long enough to make an accurate judgment in most cases.
Although the notables having 2 votes each is a good point."

Either way, if these newbies don't explain themselves, I'm not accepting notable status. Simply put, I don't want to be voted in if there's this much uncertainty between how many votes I got. Like someone said- without the 3 newbie votes put me into 3rd place.

Yeh without the 3 newbie votes Sonic would fall into 3rd place because the only thing that separate's the three is 1 or 2 votes either way vote.

As for Snuggly...
There HAS been some fixing. Perhaps not from fake accounts, but from newbies voting for people they are told to vote for. I have had 3 newbies vote for me that I have never seen and have never replied to my topics.
Clearly not democratic.
And as good as the staff at SR are, there WILL be some fake accounts that slip through the net- no one is infalable. (like me and spelling)

I really hope there has been no cheating. However, in the future, perhaps the only way to prevent such an occurance would be to only allow regulars to vote, which would unavoidable be unfair to honest newbies like myself.

If I find that any of the votes have come from an obviously fake alias, created solely for the purpose of rigging the election, then I'll delete it. If this has happened, which I severely doubt it has, then it is no reason to give up your Notable status.
I'm going to count up the votes as soon as I can, and the two top people who get the most votes become Notables. If you don't want to be a Notable, then congratulations - you've just wasted everyone's time.
