In the latest play magazine Medal of Honor Frontlne received 98%

Bear this in mind with:

Metal gear 2 - 81%
Final fantasy 10 - 94%
Pro evolution Soccer - 97%
Grand theft Auto 3 - 98%

It seems this could be an excellent title, seeing it is the joint top game that they have ever reviewed. i wasn't too sure, but here's my motive to buy it.

So, approaching a year on - have opinions on this matter changed?

I think Metal gear is involving, but less fun than say FFX.

How about Metal gear blitzball? :-)

I think that Metal Gear Solid 2 is actually quite boring. In terms of technical achievement, its right up at the top of the ladder, but fun? Sure, its fun to see the reactions of guards to the huge list of things available to do, and the nifty things like shooting seagulls and slipping on crap are good. But, I don't find it fun at all. Being a 'tactical espionage action' game, its far too tense to be fun. The graphics are nice, but the gameplay is quite dull and the length is far too short.

And then OPS2 gave FF10 a meager 8/10. I can understand this, but its still one hell of a lot better than MGS2, which should have gotten a 7 or 8 in my opinion. Oh well. Hype can change reality obviously.

I agree with you Asher, Metal gear solid 2 is the most over hyped game ever and not even that game could live up to its own hype, if it had not been hyped at all it would have not had as much to live up to.

I don't think so. They may seem biased, but its because their reviewing system is different.

If you want the scores to relate with OPS2 and Play and stuff like that, add 2 marks. Edge give 5/10 as average whereas others give 7/10.


5/10 isn't a bad mark for MOH, its ordinary. Nothing special, but not bad. And Frequency did get a 9 in OPS2.

yeh i thought 98% was a bit much for MoH :frontline but its up to them to score it like that

think he meat 11 as "2" as in world war 2 and yes the game is based on that
