"Spamming must stop"

I've been alerted to the amount of spamming going on in these forums, and I'd like it to stop, immediately. It really is quite pointless posting meaningless words over and over again, and people who replay, just quoting the message are just as bad. I know the Longest Thread is just a bit of fun, but people have complained that the spamming is getting too much, so quit it.

People like KR, big_slow and Timmy have all boosted their word count significantly in this manner, while other people work hard writing good posts and don't even get on the list because it's filled with spammers. If it continues, we won't hesitate in banning the offending spammer, as it just wastes our time, your time and everyone elses time too.

i also can assure you all i will not be spamming because SR didnt publish the top posters in the last SR mag, which made me very mad.

i am also sorry for not being here for 2 days, as i was addicted to sitting on the new leather sofas. so soft. so cool. so comfy. perfect.

and im also sorry for the kebab thing, i tried to tell him i was pushed into him bu jonny but he didnt listen. i ever offered to buy another one and wash his shoes at my mates house but he just took my milkshake and 20p and went. there were still some chips left so dodnt be so mad okay sr?

plus i wouuld like to mention i am not happy that my name wasmentioned in over 40% of the posts.

Afternoon all.... I've been away with work for a bit, and come back to a PS2 forum that's gone back (in part) to how it used to be. Cheers to Ali & SR for promising to kick some behind if necessary.

Anyway, apart from banning spammers, how about just making their post and word counts null and void? I know that doesn't get rid of the problem, but I know that in the past when I tried to persuade big_slow what he (presumably a he) was doing was just utterly pointless (ignoring the fact how much he was irritating other posters), he was only interested in getting his monthly count up. Maybe that could be the first step before banning? It only really affects the spammers who want to be top of the list (Which in itself is pointless. Why be the number one crap spouter or post copier? Unless your career ambition only stretches to serving up in McDonald's of course), but maybe it would kill one incentive for doing it.

Alternatively SR could spam them back. 8>

Not to some people on here, stats to a few are for more than there reputation, and so they do what they can to get them up i guess, which in the end doesnt do all that much for there reputation.

But anyway, theres not much you can do about that, as long as you know your posting well and add anything to the forum, which doesnt have to be long post after long post, it can just be adding something to the forum, then your doing a good job.

How you go about things is clearly up to you...rather like the PC game 'Black and White', you can either be a good god or a bad god, how you act depends on the latter.

I agree that spamming must stop. What is the point of it anyway? Surely there is more to life than getting to the top of the 'TOP POSTERS' list?!

Ive seen Big_Slow it's rediclious he just spams and spams one words i think hes addicted

Give me a big part and i dont mind though, use me to your fullest in the story i guess, i aim to please the masses. :D
