I've been alerted to the amount of spamming going on in these forums, and I'd like it to stop, immediately. It really is quite pointless posting meaningless words over and over again, and people who replay, just quoting the message are just as bad. I know the Longest Thread is just a bit of fun, but people have complained that the spamming is getting too much, so quit it.
People like KR, big_slow and Timmy have all boosted their word count significantly in this manner, while other people work hard writing good posts and don't even get on the list because it's filled with spammers. If it continues, we won't hesitate in banning the offending spammer, as it just wastes our time, your time and everyone elses time too.

big_slow has been warned before anyway. He wrote 40 messages in this thread and his excuse was thsat he was talking to hurcules. Even hough hurc only posted once.

I'm glad to see things have finally started to calm down in this forum, although I do wonder how long it will last, well maybe the likes of KR, big_slow and Timmy have taken the hint and stopped but who know's, the next batch of spammers are probably only a few clicks away and then it'll start all over again.
Still I think Ali's post seems to have done the trick for the moment, let's just pray it stays this way for a while!

Well its actually a quiter time right now in this forum, some of the main spammers have stopped since the post from Ali, things use to be a whole lot worse, the spam was not just confined to the longest thread, it was all over the place.
Its only just over the past few days that we have finally got some topics on gaming back in here.
But there is FOG chat that can be used to chat, it really doesnt have to be in every forum does it? Especially to the degree that things were happening in here anyway.

Yeah, good point. It's just that i don't see why every topic in the forum should be a serious discussion. I go on to these forums for a little bit of fun, and don't see why everyone seems to take their posts so seriously.
