With al this talk of not being able to upload via ADSL connections and not having the monthly pay packages for dial-ups, I think you might want to consider a paid for service for hosting???
Simpy it would be a case of £5 a month or something for the standard unlimited Webspace/E-mail and all the stuff you have at present, but with the added bonus of not being restricted to your dial-up, and alowwing use with ADSL or monthly dial-up packages to take advantage of the great service you offer.
Also, you could consider highr packages, with MySQL and all, maybe even Pre-installed Scripts, Secure Servers, Sub-Domains, the ability to let other people have an E-mail address with our Domains, without giving them our master usernames/password etc..
... what do ya' think???
Though if your site is big enough and one with regular updates and archives(Say BBC News for example) then this would take up a lot more space.
Would you allow the limit to be increased for particular users if the need came about .... for good reasons that is??
As for limiting web space there is a reason. The problem is that if people can upload an unlimited ammount of data at fast rates they will start hosting huge movie/download sites which will kill the servers. Also people would upload computer backups, it might sound strange but i'd do it. Just go on holiday and leave my machine uploading a few gigs of stuff I don't wanna lose. With just a few people doing this we would run out of disk space very quickly. The current system works because no one can be bothered to wait for years to upload gigs over a modem. But as I said the limit would be high enough so you can put up a site with tuns of pages and pics and even a few movies and flash files, but small enough so that no one tries to run a major download site from us.
How soon??? Hybrid said you'd delayed it for a while. Also, is it stil gonna be £29.99 a month? As Pipex are being kinda crap at the moment ... I may tell them where to go if yours comes along soon for £25 a month :o)

You shouldn't have to switch off broadband to send or collect e-mail.
I have an NTL cable connection, and pick up my e-mail through that from Freeola using POP3.
When sending e-mail, it simply goes out through my NTL account, but with my wookieemonster.com domain set as the return address.
I do still have to upload via analogue modem, which is a real pain in the butt, but e-mail isn't an issue.
