Have you at freeola ever considered offeing a paid for service as well as the freebie???

With al this talk of not being able to upload via ADSL connections and not having the monthly pay packages for dial-ups, I think you might want to consider a paid for service for hosting???

Simpy it would be a case of £5 a month or something for the standard unlimited Webspace/E-mail and all the stuff you have at present, but with the added bonus of not being restricted to your dial-up, and alowwing use with ADSL or monthly dial-up packages to take advantage of the great service you offer.

Also, you could consider highr packages, with MySQL and all, maybe even Pre-installed Scripts, Secure Servers, Sub-Domains, the ability to let other people have an E-mail address with our Domains, without giving them our master usernames/password etc..

... what do ya' think???

I don't know about networks yet. As for CJH, we are doing a wires only package so if you have an adsl enabled line then it should be fine to switch it over although I have no idea how and BT may charge you.

Oh just a quick one Bob. Do you know if you'll be charging for Set-up of ADSL??? As a few places (BT and Pipex) are waving this charge for a limited time.

Pipex and BT have set up my ADSL, so the Line is done. So if I were to switch to Freeola ADSL, would it cost me/you anything, or could I just start with the Monthly payments??

About the Freeola ADSL, I don't know if this has been decided upon yet, but will the ADSL service allow for connection to a network. I just say this because some ADSL providers (e.g Telewest Blueyonder) do offer network connection, and with others (e.g. BT OpenWorld!!!) it is against their terms and conditions to do so.

I'm not sure if anyone else would find this useful, but I currently have a small 3-computer network set up to allow the sharing of an internet connection so I wouldn't use Freeola if this was not offered. I'm just interested in what people have to say on the issue...

Can I put in a request that we are actually allowed to pay monthly: so if it's going to be a fiver a month , we pay that, rather sixty quid in one go. I don't mean to sound cheap, but, well, I am.

The price will be decided by the management. The price will be dependent on how much we pay, the ammount of money we need to pay for the service, etc. It will be the best price we can offer.

Thanks for keeping us all up to date Bob, can we have a discussion about future prices which we can all agree on rather then just a statement made out of the blue, or is it set in stone already?

I havent been told the price yet. I'm not actually dealing with this and so don't know all the details. The web space thing is certain though adn we won't offer it free with banners for a few reasons. One banners put on websites not designed for them look tacky and second (and the real reason) is that we cannot make enough money from banners.

If charges are going to be made for webspace, is it possible for SR advertisements to be on the site to allow it to be free?

Although left to the site people to place the banners :), hate pop ups and banners in the wrong place.
