With al this talk of not being able to upload via ADSL connections and not having the monthly pay packages for dial-ups, I think you might want to consider a paid for service for hosting???
Simpy it would be a case of £5 a month or something for the standard unlimited Webspace/E-mail and all the stuff you have at present, but with the added bonus of not being restricted to your dial-up, and alowwing use with ADSL or monthly dial-up packages to take advantage of the great service you offer.
Also, you could consider highr packages, with MySQL and all, maybe even Pre-installed Scripts, Secure Servers, Sub-Domains, the ability to let other people have an E-mail address with our Domains, without giving them our master usernames/password etc..
... what do ya' think???
Thanks Whooo! Dependens on the costs really, If freeola offer free instalation then thats covvered :o). I'll just have to wait an see.
Isn't it £50 to cancel pipex????
As for changing, you realise there is quite a hefty fee? Not sure of the top of my head but you'll have to pay the installation fee for your Pipex if you cancel within one year, and then pay BT to change your ISP over.
You know the best bit about ADSL?? Getting that Windows Update in a few seconds rather than one hour, lol :o)

I don't bother with any of BTInternet's services - their webspace provision is far too small for my needs anyway.

£23.44 with VAT - still cheaper than BT. Shame they weren't quite available when I signed up with BT because I would probably have gone for them instead.

All but one of my domains are registered with Freeola. My ADSL is a BT plug-and-go package. If Freeola had launched earlier, I *might* have considered going with them, but to be honest, as you are basically getting a BT ADSL line via Freeola at the same price as you'd be paying BT, I don't see the point.

As I'm sure you realise, Freeola make their money from your call costs. If you want access to webspace(s) independant of your ISP, you are basically going to have to pay for space. Have a look at 1&1's hosting packages.
Their 'home' package is a mere £4.99 + VAT a month after a £9.99 + VAT setup fee and that includes 100Mb of space and an impressive 3Gb/month bandwidth. You do have to step up a package to get MySQL though.
They don't make a charge for transferring your domain to them, so you can keep your registrations with Freeola (who do a pretty good job when it comes to renewal) and just be hosted elsewhere.
Chris.
NTL is cheaper but only when you subscribe to the full package. I don't so it's really expensive for me. £30 a month!!!
