how poor the quality of the pictures they will come back crying to nintendo and sega.
NINTENDO AND SEGA ARE SIMPLY THE BEST
We are buying it because we know what it can (and can't) do, we want the games, and we don't mind paying the money.
Many of us have been following PS2's progress since it was announced, so we have already waited over a year for it. I can't speak for the others here, but I don't really want to wait another year for GameCube or X-Box.
If, in my opinion (for that is all that matters *to me*), they are genuinely any good when they arrive, and they have enough of the games I want to play, I will consider buying either or both. I am a fan of both PlayStation machines, but that does not mean that I am incapable of appreciating, or indeed buying, another system.
In your earlier post, you claim that third-party developers can't easily make games for it. While it may not be as easy as other systems, that hasn't stopped third-party developed lining up to make games for it.
Only one developer has so far given up, and the circumstances surrounding that particular departure are slightly suspect to say the least.
According to reports in PlayStation mags and online, there are around 800 games confirmed for development, and most of those are most likely third-party titles. Whether they like coding for the system or not, most developers are expecting the machine to be a hit, so it is in their interests to persevere and produce games for it.
I'm not a fool.
If you want to spend £300 on a PS2 now then you are a fool.
If you wait till the other machines are out and STILL want to buy a PS2 (which will be cheap buy then) then atleast you'll be sure that you've got what you want.
Then again, when GC (whoever called it a tame cube is sad) comes out, you might want that instead. It's entirely up to you but if you have any sense, wait a year before buying.
Who knows, I might even buy a PS2 in a years time!
800+ games confirmed for development both now and in the future should suggest to even the dimmest bulbs that developers are falling over themselves to support PS2, IN SPITE of any known problems. If they can't come to terms with that, they have a problem.
You must be a game god. I bow down at your feet, please have mercy on one who is not worthy.
On the strength of your word, i will now discard my PRE-ORDER and follow some other gaming icon.
Now that's out of the way and you feel really superior, can i point out some things to you.
A): Who cares what you think.
B): The PS2 is way above anything that is out at the moment.
C): When the other consoles reach the retailers, PS2 will already have a massive user base.
D): When the other consoles are ready for you to collect, PS2 will have already ironed out their bugs, and will probably be cheaper to buy.
E): If you trust Microsoft, then you must be related to Bill Gates.
