Xbox : THE size of a huge VCR - the first thing that puts u off it. Only one good game at launch - HALO ( also coming on pc soon). YOu have to pay an extra £27 just for the dvd controller. The control pad is bigger than Dc's and is uncomfortable, with those four crap "jewel buttons"
and of course..the price-£299...wtf! gamecube is only £165, and with PS2 at £199, that makes best choice, with greats games such as MGS2, and GTA3
face it..xbox is only gonna be boughy by ppl with too much cash to burn, thinking that higher specs win..that is not the case!
ps2 has a great range of platinum titles already, and GC will be bought by lots of children. Microsoft also have no experience at all in making consoles.
Previously the N64 had higher specs than Playstation, but playstaion won in the end. With loads of PSone owners, they will upgrade to Xbox.

People where more willing to pay £400 for a PS2 (or however much it cost) because Sony already dominated the console market with the PSOne. They, like me had faith that the PS2 would do the same. Which it is. The PS2 was worth whatever amount of money it cost on release.
The X-Box however is Microsoft's first attempt at doing consoles, so we don't know whether or not it will survive, especialy without the Japanease market. This is why people aren't willing to pay £400 for an X-Box since it could all go belly up, taking our money with it.

Yeah same here PS2's were £300 at launch, well mine was as I got it from SR. The only time they would be more expensive is if someone who had a launch day machine sold it. People were charging £1000's for PS2's after launch day, as no one could get them.

Yeah same here PS2's were £300 at launch, well mine was as I got it from SR. The only time they would be more expensive is if someone who had a launch day machine sold it. People were charging £1000's for PS2's after launch day, as no one could get them.

I'll think you'll find that the PS2 was actually £299.99 when it came out!
I agree that Microsoft do bring out quality products (usually). But the PS2 has already got such a huge following, there's not much if anything between the graphics on x-box and ps2, but the main thing that lets down the x-box is the annoying controller. Also I have to say that the control configuration on all the games I've played for x-box has been shocking. V hard to get used to.Whereas the Ps2 controller is so comfortable and well set out that's what's stopping me trading mine in for an x-box. I'd get a gc over the x-box also because a) it's chepaer and b) they've got the rights to the resi evil games which are like my favourite games ever.But I suppose we are all entitled to our opinions.

I was just wondering who took the time and effort to ban Zero.....or should I say who didn't !! The guy only posted 4 or maybe 5 times here, out of a total of 68 plus this one. Even then he never said anything out of order. I'm sure Zero is beside him self with self pity and may feel like life is now to heavy on his shoulders due to his ban from these hallowed pages.
But in the true style of posting and posting etiquet I will make a point to match the post title. Sooooooo I feel the X-box is a good system, slightly disappointing but never the less looks good. One of many good things about it is my wife finds it makes a wonderful flower press. It is of the right size to press many flowers at once and is of a good weight.
By the looks of things tho, if the release titles are anything to go by then things should get better....OR WILL THEY.....have developers burnt their bridges already??? I think MS do make quality kit. There hardware is second to none, people may slate Windows but whats the alternatives??? Linux?? yeah right, grandma would thrive on that !! My point is MS do do stuff well, well I hope they did with the X-box. The Japs hate it, god help Gates cos its looking like he needs it.
