The other Ferrari of Raikkonen broke down in 40 degree heat, with the turbo overheating.
Practice 2 is at 4pm.
Interesting article here on the thinking behind Hamilton's pit stop strategy in the Australian GP. Basically they're saying they expected Verstappen to pit earlier than he did, which would have meant Hamilton wouldn't have been held up by him like he was in the race.
It doesn't however change the fact that Hamilton was behind Vettel in the latter stages of the race and couldn't catch him and overtake him for the win.

I really feel for Alonso in the ailing Mclaren, though as he was looking good for points before having issues. They really need to move away from Honda, though, however much it hurts.
Alonso Article
Interesting comments here from Alonso, it's refreshing to have a bit of honesty from a driver about how they're really feeling about their team's situation.
It's a real shame for McLaren to have fallen so far but hopefully they'll be able to sort their issues out and start being more competitive soon.
Hopefully Force India continues to improve (they're throwing enough money at it) and some deal is done for the lower end of the field otherwise we might see HAAS disappear as well and it's already looking emptier down the bottom end. Somehow they need to try and make it fairer without being about how much money everyone needs to spend.
Looking forward to 2 weeks time now.
It all came down to the first pit stops, Hamilton went in first and had a good stop but then he got stuck in traffic and Vettel managed to get his pit stop in and come out just in front of Hamilton where he stayed for the rest of the race.
The Ferrari was probably the better car today, Hamilton just couldn't close the gap and overtake Vettel and while Bottas will no doubt be a threat to Hamilton's hopes of a 4th world title going on today's performance Vettel is looking like a much greater threat.
Even though I want Hamilton to win I was really pleased Vettel came out on top as if this form continues it will be a great battle throughout the season instead of Hamilton running away with it.
After the race Hamilton admitted he has "a race on his hands" after Ferrari's performance in Melbourne, and I can't wait for two weeks time and China to see if Ferrari can keep up the excellent form!
I was impressed with the Ferrari and it is their first front row start since Singapore in 2015 so I think Vettel will give Hamilton a good run for his money in the race.
Hopefully it won't be a repeat of last year and Hamilton will get a good start this time and make pole count and go on and win the race.

Well here we are, less than a day until the start of the season with Australian qualifying!
Hamilton has absolutely dominated both practice sessions, being over half a second ahead of the rest of the field and only 1/10th of a second from the lap record at Albert Park.
Vettel also had a good practice session, splitting the Mercedes cars into 1st and 3rd.
Note of caution though - last year Hamilton was fastest in all 3 practice sessions, got pole position, then blew the start which cost him victory. Will history repeat itself? Hopefully not!
I'd like to see the rest of the pack be more challenging, though. Not as easy now that the design has made it even harder to pass. Who came up with that idea?
