I was going through the archive earlier and came across Turbo’s Web Design Pledge. Although I can vaguely remember this when it happened, I thought nothing of it, but upon reading it again, something really caught my eye.

“However, the forum is just being "used". Where as forums like the FOG are ever-popular, with people visiting regularly and generally having fun, the Web Design forum is merely being "used" for question and such like. Well, no longer! I want to turn this forum into a proper community.”

He is right here, this forum is only really used by people wanting questions answered, but I think that this forum is probably the best on the site. Mainly because nearly everyone in here knows what they are talking about. But I don’t like how the forum is used just for questions.

So here is what I propose, we use this thread for general chat. Not just web design, anything at all. Since not many people pass through this forum anymore, it won’t get spammed up too much, it’ll just be a place where people can go to be themselves.

If it doesn’t work, then fine. I just think this thread will be able to make this forum more of a community.

So… what’s up everyone? :0)

Heh, great idea Stef.

Mind you, I am one of those people that is always asking the questions and never answering them ;)

As for me, i'm in year 10, with the mocks coming up in 4 weeks. Hoping to breeze through them with little revision, but thats unlikely ;)

My school has a crap IT system. Our computers take about 1.5 minutes to load Microsoft Word, and after typing a sentence, I have to stop to let the PC catch up! Also, I've managed to fix more of the network problems (I've already said I know very little...) than out NetworkAdmin guy. The two IT teachers know jack-all about what they are teaching..

So, naturally, I didn't take IT, though I'm not sure how that will affect my suitability for an IT course if I decide colllege over 6Th form.

I've kept mt options open so far, taking Geography and History, and doing pretty well in my Graphics course and English and Maths. I think I'll do pretty well in my GCSEs, but its what comes next that I gotta think about.

I've always wanted some sort of job in IT, as I spend most of my time on computers, but i'm not sure how pheasable that is - and besides, I've been projected A*s in most of my subjects, so I'm sure I could get a higher paid job elsewhere..and then there the deabte of college or 6th form..

ah, too much to think about, back to online gaming :)

Oh, hi...good idea, this seems to be the only forum I have any interest left in, so community is good..

I'm glad to have the weekend, been getting results of year 10 exams back, first week back at school always seems worse. I also seem to have a problem of very nearly falling asleep in all my lessons now, despite sleeping more now than ever...which isn't all that much though, heh.

I'll be up for a few more hours prodding divxs and looking at hardware, new to buy some new toy to play with..

Details..

Heh, nothing better than messing about all year, then beating all the people that think they are above you. I'm on course for doing that this year, as I've messed about for the vast majority of it :0) although I will probably fall flat on my face when it comes to the exams...

Well next year I will be mixing work and English A level with a bunch of people I don't know (probably). That should be fun.

My old 6th form was a doss too. I took advantage a bit too much though :0)

I didn't think I was going to do well and ended up doing a lot better then half of the so called 'better students' ha!

College really sucks, if I wasn't allowed access to te studio all day i'd leave, I don't get taught much because my 'teacher' (one of him) is usually ill, there are only 3 students that bother turning up, i'm only working 2 and a half days a week, i'd much rather have studied something else but i'm looking forward to taking a year out, and UNI afterwards, will be nice to use my brain again.

I'm not really a big fan of fitting in though. I've got roots in my school now and don't really want to change again. Plus, as I said before, our Sixth Form is meant to be a doss :D.

6th form can be great but some say college is better.

I suppose it's what school you go to really.

Put it this way I liked it the only thing I didn't like was having to get up earlier on some days because I needed to catch a bus so I could go to different schools for my lessons.

I'm planning on taking Maths, IT, Business Studies and Pyschology. I want to do well in the first three, but Pyschology will be my dossing lesson :D. I've heard Maths is hard, but I think if I apply myself, I should be alright. Easier said than done though.

I don't take Spanish, I take French. Hate every minute of it as well...
