Check out this latest rumour - apparently, Activision have just bought Rare. These are currently rumours, so here's your challenge - go find me some evidence! Scour news sites, find me some info! Help the News Monkey break this story to the world! Report back here and let me know if you find out anything, ANYTHING at all about this story.
Fly me pretties, fly!
Have you considered the possibility that Activision may have bought a percentage of Rare, or perhaps that they're in a deal for publishing?
It would make a lot more sense. Activision to simply buy out Rare would seem... impossible, almost. :0D

If Nintendo do own 25%, then maybe Activitions bought shares from other stockholders?... 26% say, just to get a controlling interest?

Ah, but if he's an ex-employee then will they still be updating him with things about the company?
How long ago was it when he worked for them?
:)
:)
That could seriously hamper the quality of the games.
As someone said a little down the list, Ninty fund Rare and it would take a large amount of money to get Rare out of Ninty's grasp, so I don't really feel that it'll happen.
i could be wrong, mind you....
Though I doubt Activision would buy them, because, wellActivision

Dunno man.. they are pretty hoowge...
Wern't Activision the worlds first Third Party developers? (setup by some people who left Atari?)
