OK OK.... don't know if yo have noticed it but the PSX is one of the worst computers for build quality.

It may clearly be the BEST EVER for quality of games, but there is no point in all the games if the thing don't work.

From day 1 Sony have had to make constant changes to there little bundle of joy.

EVERY ONE i know with a playstation has had a least one problem with it. The common one being a piece of plastice flying off the middle.

By PSX does all of this, over heat, crash, bits of plastic braking off, works slow, can't read CD probley, etc. But the worst thing is i have NEVER cause any damage to the playstation or CDs. The only reason for these problems is cheap components.

Oh and guess what... I phoned up sony and they wanted £40 and my working (just) playstation for a recondintioned one, CHEEK, i could by a brand new one for £70 in specail reserve.

ANY WAY...all i really want is for sony to use better quality parts in the PSX2 'cause i am tired with th PSX being so cheap....

AND TO THE DELEVOPERS, good work keep it up y'all

Does anyone know why the PC isn't the most common and popular gaming Platform?

The Cost.

Your average person does not want to invest £1500 only to have to pay it again in a couple of years time as his Computer doesn't have enough Memory or a good enough Graphics Card to play any games. ie: 3 years ago I spend £1600 on PC with a P 133, 32mb RAM and a 4mb ATI Graphics Card. After 2 years it wouldn't play practiclly any games. I have been offered £50 for it at a loss of £1550. Yes I've lost £1550 just for two years of Game Playing(Imagine if you had just spent £1000 on a state of the art TV only to be told it wasn't compatible with all the normal channels it had worked fine with like BBC and ITV)

On the other hand if at the same time I had invested £150 in a Playstion it would have played every game I had bought for with no instalation and compatability problemns. and I could have sold it today for £60 easily.

OK so the Playstation maybe doesn't have as wide a selection of games and is much slower and the graphics aren't as good... but most normal people don't mind that if it saves them money.

They rocked until August 24 th.

Then the cube games were shown. Now those graphics like the famous car races on PSX2 have a complete different feeling.

And then the price : at £300? It will need to go under £170 to sell as a games machine. Of course the DVD video standard will make it attractive as a video player (like present day software sales show in Japan) but at the same time this could be the weakest element. Software sales need to be very high because development on these machines are tremendous.

CD's are SLOOOW.
A video games machine needs to be fast and instantly accessible.
Like an arcade machine. What would you say if you put in that quarter and had to wait 50 seconds to load the next level :))

Of course next generation machines will all have DVD's except for the Game Boy Advance. Nobody doubts BTW it will be the most sold console from here to Mars. Easy to load - always with you and gaming possible in train, plane or car. Only connect to a game cube to watch the 3D battles you prepared on the road.

So a CD is better for sound? Yes but sound and videos do not make games play. Slam in that cartridge please and let the shooting begin now.

a poem about the best thing made by man

THE PLAYSTATION

The playstation is always the best
Better than any of the rest.
Some May think it’s classic,
Others may think its Jurassic.

With games such as FINAL FANTASY EIGHT
The grey box can be classed as heavens gate.
With plenty of action
You’ll soon see the attraction

Some may want to buy a dreamcast
But at the end of the day that will always come last
The playstation is always the best
Better than any of the rest.
The games are so cool
That’s why I think the playstation does rule.

what is the point of creating a ps one when the playstation does the same thing and is alot better.

Instead of creating the ps one why not upgrade the playstation.

they could change some of the playstation so that screens can be added to it and WAP phones can be used on it

if they want to make something new apart from psx 2 it should be a device where you can play psx 2 games on your currant psx.

if anything the ps one should be able to connect to the original psx so that you can play psx 2 games.

besides what is the point of buying a ps one because the psx 2 will cheaper and will do the same thing.

remember bigger is better.

CD'S are way better. They store more information in them and they look more presentable and unlike the N64 games they don't need a box which could fit 8 copies of the game in it.
