My 3 are...
www.andi.tk
www.l2productions.co.uk
www.lewq.2y.net/andi/iroko
The last one, IROKO, is still under construction, but i like the design of it and its different from my others.
So, post away, increase your hit counts and lets get some constructive critacism (sp?) going.
I'll leave all of you alone to massage your egos and pride yourself over your web designs.
I'm sorry to have pointed out such silly considerations as 'communication' in a design. I must have seriously deflated your self-inflated egos there right? Sorry, didn't mean to bring you down to Earth with a bump. I thought you were adult enough to take some advice on-board. Obviously not.
Everyone, listen to Whooo and obey what he says - else the sad will cry and stamp his feet until you do. Poor kid.
Learn to take some criticism mate - you're going to get a lot of it by the looks of things.
Good luck with the design - although you'll need a lot more than just luck to succeed. I hear Microsoft are working on another version of Frontpage - ask your mum and dad nicely enough and they might get it for you for Christmas.
With any luck no-one else who knows what they are talking about will venture into this forum, and your designs will be safe from criticism. That's the way forward, isn't that right?
*Trys to keep a smile*
:o)
"You've been told" Andi? :oP
A couple of my fav's. are, www.cegconsultants.com, www.thestocktakers.co.uk, and www.brentwoodref.co.uk (which aside from the front page and one other is empty as I wait on new material to include in it)
I've heard of sky divers who's parachutes didn't open, but they lived after hitting the ground at an exceptional speed. Does this mean everyone who jumps of high buildings will live after they hit the floor? No, it doesn't. It's an exception to the rule. An oddity. A very lucky one indeed.
If someone lives after being shot, does that mean guns are now safe to give to kids? No. The majority of people would not live after being shot.
In exactly the same way, not everyone can expect to be web designers having just loaded up a web development program. To think this happens as a norm is just naive. Richard Branson is another name you might want to regurgitate, and yes I know he's a very successful man with no qualifications. Does that mean everyone should leave school at 15 if they want to be rich? No.
I really hope this time I have made my point clear. That I was not here to criticise work. I have looked at your sites, and I really liked the first one. I have looked at other sites here and I really liked some of those too. But at the end of the day how much does my opinion count? As I said I am not a web designer. My opinion is subjective, as is everyone else's.
Being able to make it in the big wide world without qualifications is NOT subjective though - it is a rule that only some people are able to break.
I do not expect to come on here later and find this post has also been manipulated into something else. I think I have made my points very clear now.
Cheers.
Don't try and tell me that everyone who loads up Dreamweaver/Frontpage/Fireworks/whatever other program you want to name can instantly design a site professionally.
That's obviously not true. And since that is my argument, I fail to see why you have a problem with it. I am not here to say that people's work is crap. I started out outlining the importance of communication and other design elements. Did I name anyone's work as poor? No. Did I claim to be a design guru? No. So what's your problem?
Yes, some work on here is good. Very good. But that doesn't mean any fool can turn on a computer and do it. So sit down and put a sock in it.
