Anyways.
What did you do for work experiance?
Me? I spent five days in a florists.
Hell yeah.
I filled buckets for a week.
Oh yeah I made a bouquet too. Sold it for £18.99 too. I was well proud.
Got to deliver some flowers to a morgue too. Didn't get to see a dead body though:(
Saw the table they gut them on though!
All in all. It "licked balls"
*Counts on her fingers*....
Good lord that was like five years ago!
Oh I feel old.
So what did you do?
Because I couldn't get in anywhere I wanted, I was put in TOPMAN (against my will) with a few other kids who didn't have anywhere else to go
It was 9 to 5, and 9 to 6 on a Thursday, and it was boring as HELL. They played the same four songs in a constant loop (as a customer you don't notice, because you're in and out of the shop in a few minutes, but for me it was torture)
The staff were absolute, um, well, I won't say it here, but they were absolute ones. They would order us to do stuff and stand and chat to each other as we did their jobs for them. Did I mention it was boring as hell? If not, I'll say it again, heh
First day I was in the stockroom all day, and the next day one of the staff sent me back down. I argued with her, because I wanted to stay with my friends, and in the end I walked off to go to the stockroom, and she accused me of calling her a behotch/cow as I walked off (can't remember which, but either way it wasn't good) So, they threatened to sack me and my friend, as we were un-cooperative because we were treated like scum. Went through a few more days of hell, before I walked out on the Friday and arranged my OWN work experience for the remaining week.
I vowed I would never end up working in a clothes shop after my 5 days at TOPMAN
So I phone the guy up and he tells me I have to be there in an hour, some place over the other side of town. Pretty far. I told him what I thought and he let me have the day off. But the next day I went to the place.
The sheet which told me what the job involved was full of stuff to do with computers and all this office work. It's what I wanted to do so i was happy.
I got there and I saw two ladies in a Kitchen and the place stinking like fags. "Take a look around" they said. So I did and then came back to them after asking them where the PC's were. "Nothing like that around here" they laughed.
So I spent two (or was it three?) weeks in a place cleaning dishes during lunch for people who worked in the hospital. The manager was gay, he touched my leg in the car, instead of the gear when we were going Cash and Carry. I didn't know it at the time though, but I should of realised when stripper music was playing in the club. "Why's this playing?" I said, "Peter likes this kind of thing don't he" they chuckled. Then I find out on the last day he's gay. Great. I'm not homophobic though.
Hours were good. 10.30 until about 2. Easy peasy. Walked it back most day's too because I was feeling healthy and stuff.
That was great, got paid a bit too!
Last summer I worked a little at Eidos and Nintendo in and around London and now I have a part time job selling games in GAME.
All in all, can't wait to get a nice office job where I can become lazier than I am and look at porn on the internet.
Yeap.
*feels so young*
They said they would have sacked me if the job was for real. Like I care...They asked me one day if "would you look to do some filing?" To which I replied "no, not really"
At least i learned somthin/// I dont want to work in an office.
they made me fill envelopes, then address them before they discovered they could print off the addresses on sticky envelopes.
They then used my tallent for my infinitely neater handwriting than the other work experience guy, by making me fill in the whole companys punch cards.
I got "promoted" to pizza hut express (woooo) that went on for a week then they let me onto the shoes and lane assistant before helping out as technichians assistant where I helped to fix a few of the lanes.
I narrowly avoided wearing the company's mascot suit for a childs birthday party, but was made to wear the company shirt.
