Vice City looks awesome with 120 vehicles, 40 weapons, and 9hrs worth of audio in glorous DTS sound the Gamecubes rubbish disc could not even hold the audio not to mention having no Dolby sound anyway.
Still never mind Pokemon is coming and we all know the quality of that has been series.

There is no FMV in GTA - it's done using the game engine.
As for coding, it's done using Renderware - which is also available for GC, so the results would be pretty similar.
I reckon they'd have to do away with the 'real' radio stations and go back to something like the radio stations on GTA1/2, where they just had little ditties using the internal sound chip.

Simple engine? I doubt that. Car, bike, helicopter and aircraft physics, all in one engine? Not to mention the music, which probably takes up most of the space - over 9 hours of audio.
And not forgetting that Mafia on the PC came on three CD's.

Okay, so you don't like it - but that doesn't make it 'toss', and no-one's telling you tht you have to buy it. Did it never occur to you that, once in a while, the majority may be in the right?
This isn't just hoardes of mindless idiot gamers saying that it's a great game - it's won enough awards from those within the industry, too. And if you are saying it just to annoy the likes of Top Score, why sink to his level?

That doesn't neccesarilly mean more diskspace.
Probably less music/FMV and more efficient coding.
> Nice one
Let me just be clear - I'm not taking sides on this argument, because:
a) I also have a Gamecube
b) I think everyone should be able to play this game
I don't doubt that the Gamecube could handle it technically. I do, however, honestly believe that the game would be impractical on the Gamecube simply because of the capacity of the discs.
I was stating a fact, not backing you up!
Anyway, GTA WOULD'VE worked on the Gamecube and DMA Design, the guys behind it, were VERY impressed with Gamecube hardware and really wanted to devellop on it.
As it turned out, Rockstar, their publishers, didn't really care for Nintendo games and sold the franchise to Sony.
Because it's been made for the PS2, GTA:VC has been optimised for the PS2, eating the full 4.7 Gb of DVD diskspace.
Although a Gamecube version clearly wouldn't have had as much music, it would've had advantages in other areas instead.
