Having seen the spec for GTA Vice City there is only one game to get this Christmas and its not a stupid old fart plumber that should have been flushed down the toilet along time ago.

Vice City looks awesome with 120 vehicles, 40 weapons, and 9hrs worth of audio in glorous DTS sound the Gamecubes rubbish disc could not even hold the audio not to mention having no Dolby sound anyway.

Still never mind Pokemon is coming and we all know the quality of that has been series.

GTA3 is certainly not game of the year.

Its probably the most popular, as will be Vice City, but that does not mean its the best game out there. Like Mendax bartender said. its like a Boyband.

Does this have to be spelled out for you?

To change game formats, much of the code has to be altered. Line by line in many cases. If the developers can't be bothered changing everything, and want to make the release early to make money faster, then things will be missed out.

Creating a game from scratch is completely different kettle of fish.

I can tell you for free that making a new game from nothing is far more exciting than going through someone's code and altering/debugging it for months on end, and THIS is why ports from one console to another are often lacklustre, and slightly inferior.

There's no conspiracy.

The only way that would be a possiblity would be through compression and that would mean a reduction in audio quality.

Certainly beats the crap out of a stupid plumber who spends a huge amount of time running through large, varied and immersive levels. Ha.

You only have a right to say that when GTA games make more than $10bil worldwide. Because thats what mario has made. Anyway MArio rules!

They (ninty & MS) both said that their consoles were better for programming. They had "worked closely with developers" so that bringing games out on these consoles would be easier than for ps2. A much bigger canvas to work with, easier, and faster. I saw this on tv. The actual spokes people were saying it. So why do GC and XBox still get "less than perfect" ports.

This post shows an incredible lack of understanding of the details of developing games.

Isn't the GameCube and XBox supposed to be easier to code for than PS2? If this is the case, how hard is it to make a port game that works right?
