Having seen the spec for GTA Vice City there is only one game to get this Christmas and its not a stupid old fart plumber that should have been flushed down the toilet along time ago.

Vice City looks awesome with 120 vehicles, 40 weapons, and 9hrs worth of audio in glorous DTS sound the Gamecubes rubbish disc could not even hold the audio not to mention having no Dolby sound anyway.

Still never mind Pokemon is coming and we all know the quality of that has been series.

Top Score, whats wrong with Pokemon? Sure, the francise is a whipped horse (or rather cash cow), but the games themselves are techinly excellent and really good fun to play. They aren't rushed out on the back of the Pokemeon success story.

Exactly my point. There is no gameplay, only mindless violence.

Ooh, I'm bored, so I'm going to get out a baseball bat and smash this person's knees in. It doesn't advance the game, it doesn't help anything. it just numbs my mind to life and helps me feel like I'm important.

The game is the same without this. replace people with bunny rabbits, baseball bats with flowers and cash, and suddenly it doesn't appeal. It's not gameplay, it's just graphics. And far too many people fall for it hook line and sinker.

I look down on far more than this. To me, society as a whole is a self-destructive collective organism. But that people get off on gratuity rather than substance is a great sore point to be honest.

Hmmm, I think you'll find it has. Although it'll prolly be like the
other games with just better gfx and more of the little buggers to
collect.

pokemon for GC? where did you fing this out, perchance? i do hope it'd not the Meowths party trailer shown way back? i do hope you know that was just a little taster of the GC's power.

That is the whole purpose of the game. If you took away the selling points of any game, it wouldn't be as good. If you took the platforms out of platform games, would they be as good?

You're talking about removing the key gameplay elements - removing them from any game renders it useless.

It's a bit of escapism - what's wrong with that? The only thing that's sad is that you choose to look down your nose at gamers who enjoy a different style of game than yourself.

I also enjoy a challenging game, but I see nothing wrong with just switching off and unleashing havoc (in game form) from time to time.

The exceptions being when they when they agree with your sentiments, obviously.

I don't say what I do for anyone's benefit.

The GTA games are the most appaling I have ever played. The only thing that comes close is Doshin. At least Doshin has the excuse that it is aimed at a younger audience. GTA is just bland.

And I say for the umpteenth time, if you took away the violence, blood, gore and viciousness from the game, would it be as good to you?

The answer is, as always, no. The game relies on it's visual impact, which is sad. Sadder still is that so many find that that is what they want from a game.

I'd rather have something that stimulates the mind, than the odd caveman chromesome. It's the tragedy with mankind as a whole really. The "majority", although numerically superior, are almost always wrong.

yep...

&

No idea...

Though I understand the multiplayer aspect we missed out on with GTA3 will be incorporated into Vice City (apparently, as well as the usual upgrades, they have a few other 'extras' planned too)

In fact, I have come to a controversial decision.

Red Faction ONE is better than Vice City and Super Mario Sunshine put together.

How'd you like that? Eh?
