Vice City looks awesome with 120 vehicles, 40 weapons, and 9hrs worth of audio in glorous DTS sound the Gamecubes rubbish disc could not even hold the audio not to mention having no Dolby sound anyway.
Still never mind Pokemon is coming and we all know the quality of that has been series.
GTA3, or VC is unlikely to ever appear on GC due to the ££££deal done with Sony. And in any case, it would almost certainly not fit on a single GC disc and would not be suitable for disc swapping.
The Getaway is going to be another example of massive code and varried game play. Another example of a game that would almost certainly not fit on a single GC disc.
Haven't used the PC version of GTA3. Some 1 said it was poor unless you spent lots of ££££ on a fast new pc. I bet there are some out there who claim they can run it fine on an old pc and it still beats the PS2 version. Well I am not the only one that appears to doubt this.
I recall some one once saying that GTA3 would probably fit within a few hundred Mb, and that it was not a particularly demanding game (hardware wise). That has been blown well and truly out the water.
Going by the previous texts on this topic, the limited capacity of the GC 1.5gb disc should be considered a major factor if your just about to buy a next gen console.
At what of the future. GC games set to go beyond PS2 capabilities? Some how I doubt that. Special effects, real life graphics, digital sound, all require massive amounts of disc space. So what if the GC has a slight performance edge over PS2 (processor wise). If you cant store the data for the game (because you don't have enough disc space), then you cant stick the "big games" on your console. Still, you could go back to disc swapping!
> Did you know the PC version of GTA3 is two discs?
I didn't.
But on the PC it doesn't matter, as the whole thing runs from HD.
Well it is.
yeh

I agree, you wise old man you.

That's why I said 'using your example', and tried to determine a logical way in which it could actually be done! :-)

I said it was an example not a serious proposition.

No the game still runs just freezes for a while, that is how it always works... loading is very different you always have to load the game to memory anyway.

That was because they were crap, but they were huge with video footage etc...
