Its on the first email, in the part where its saying about what you get. Its under the £39.99 sentence. Heres what it says.
"All this for only £39.99! That's about what you'd pay for just one game.
Remember we can only accept a limited amount of participants for the Xbox Live™ Beta, so get your order in as soon as you can."

And where have you heard that phrase before?

That makes it even sicker for me. A friend of mine likes games, but he has the habit of buying a game, playing it once then leaving it to rot on the shelf cause he hasn't got the patience to get into it.
When he filled out the survey, he deliberately put that he didn't want to be a Beta tester.
This morning however, he changed his mind and ordered it and got the confirmation letter. Now he's a good mate, but I know exactly what will happen - he'll get online, lose a game and that'll be that, he won't bother with it again unless he's downloading something for a game. That gets to me because I want to be on the Beta test so badly. He's told me I can use it at his house, but that really isn't much of a consolation for me. :-(
I'll be going to bed tonight like some kid praying that the bloody tooth fairy will arrive. Except of course I'm hoping for the er, X-Box Live fairy, or something.

Not really. If MS need 3000 people then they will send out say 5000 emails or even an email to everyone who had signed up. This allows for people being away or changing there mind. On the link that was sent, it did say there is a limited number of packages available. So people who leave it too late may not be able to get a package.

You should get the confirmation email straight away. It wasnt many minutes after I sent my form off that my confirmation email came.
Sorry to hear about the bad day you had, hopefully XBox live can cheer you up.
Thing is, I want to be a beta tester so badly but I've had such a poxy day today that I'm reluctant to get my hopes up.
Had a crap day at work which nearly lead to me thumping my supervisor in the face. I travelled to SR after work with the thought of Fifa 2003 jumping around in my head - I've been looking forward to it all week. I got to the shop only to watch as some punk kid nabbed the last copy.
I picked up the Controller S which kinda seemed like an anti climax moment without the game I wanted with it.
In a stupid attempt to get the game, I looked elsewhere to see if the shops were open - a couple were but they were ether sold out or hadn't got their stock sorted out yet.
I got home around an hour and a half later than usual after wasting my time and switched on my comp to find I had a mail saying that I'd been chosen - things were finally looking up. Then my crap piece of skank comp struggled to load the bloody link so I used my Dads comp quick got all my details and stuff sent over, then gave the credit card details needed, etc. For a moment I was so excited, but I just know I'm gonna end up missing out cause thats the kinda day today has been - a complete pile of toss.
Plus I have a blister on the side of my toe. What a wonderful day.
If one decent thing can actually happen today please let it be X-Box Live...
And I'm not particually bothered by Xbox Live. So I think I'll get GTA Vice City instead.
If only I could have both :(

They are ripping you off. Got a 100Mb NIC for about £10 and 10m Crossover cable at £5. £15 including p+p
