Is this a NTL cable modem?
They all have USB and Ethernet ports on the back!
If not you can get a program called Winroute Lite! and get the interface card like the lads say and use your Xbox that way.

Yeah I got the confirmation email as well. So far just had the orginal email and the confirmation email. Your suppose to get other emails soon as well. But they wont start sending them until your package has been dispatched.
