Goatboy's excellent thread on this game has got a lot of people thinking it seems. Maybe we should do something about it. Someone suggested it at the time, but why not ask Special Reserve not to sell it?

I don't believe in censorship, but I do believe in choice and that your choices say a lot about your character. We have a choice not to buy the game. Special Reserve have a choice not to sell and profit from it. So if you would rather SR didn't sell Hooligan then make your feelings known here.

(By the way, this isn't some anti-SR thing: great company, good value, nice forums. But we ALL need to take a stand against fascism, even as 'entertainment'.)

No, it's not where fascism is concerned.
Fascism is not an option for behavioural choice.
So many people have died fighting against this mindset and it benefits nobody.
There are no valid points to this idea at all, under any circumstance.

Tolerance runs only so far, and then there must come a point where somebody says "This is wrong and totally unacceptable".

As stated somewhere below, facism must be fought on every level with as much force as possible.
Complacency or "It's up to that person" is not an excuse or reason for tolerating race-hate.

Certain ideals are just wrong, full stop. There can be no justification for it at all.
It is not different that if someone brought out a game where the object was to form a paedophile ring throughout Europe.
Every single person here would be shouting about it.
And someone could say "It's just a game and I believe it's personal choice"

No difference whatsoever.

For 99% of things I whole heartedly agree.

Things like this though are FAR too dangerous and downright disgusting to allow in any form. No choice should be given because thins material should simply not be available

What do you have the right to decide what I can and cant see...

My point is that I dont need to be Nannied through life.

I'm not validating Child Pornography, equally, I'm validating Facist behaviour, Its the choice of the individual to decide what they want to do and dont want to do...

Creating such a reactionary, incitful thread which is proposing to removing my choice in the name of freedom is more offensive to me than the game its protesting against.

Regarding this game;

"There is nothing to be said in mitigation."
(A quote, but I'm not saying what it concerns or where it comes from)

History lesson. It is the late 1930s and France, Britain and many other European countries watch as Nazism rises in Germany, Jews and other group start fleeing Germany. nothing is said. In 1935, as Hitler rises to power, many Germans express fear as to the course they are being led on (Third Reich by Michael Veranov) but they say and do nothing. 1939 and a German military officer leaves a map of Europe in the French Embassy in Germany and walks out. The map has arrows from Germany spreading across the world. It is ignored and thrown away as scrap (Discovery Channel covered this lat week in Turning Points Of History). 1940 and escaped Jews come to Britain with tales of the concentration camps and still they are ignored.

Nazism wants to stay secret, like it did before the Second World War. It cannot be ignored in any form, especially one that could potentially be on the shelves of shops across the country. If any form of Nazism is ignored then every death in the last war was for nothing.

No, you can't just sweep racism under the carpet by not talking about it: it'll fester there and come back to haunt us. I don't want to live in a society where fascism has become acceptable again. This is how these things start: lighten up, its just a game, I don't really to kick the cr@p out of Asians, just make them wear a special star and swear allegiance to the queen. This sort of thing is the thin end of the wedge: if nazis can get their propaganda into mainstream games, then tv, films and newspapers are next.

So we should keep going on about it: it needs opposing.
