Xbox 2 WILL happen for sure. MS is in the games industry to stay.

When will Xbox 2 arrive, latest estimates are BEFORE PS3. A wise move?

It'll be xbox Live backwards compatable surely, as xbox live is a 20 year dream according to allard. Good stuff.

Wha do you want it to have? Games consoles will be turing more and more into all in one entertainment centres so spit it out.

Just a brainstorm of what Xbox 2 should be all about.

OK, what I'd like to see...

Backwards compatability.

Bigger hard drive.

All the features of the current console.

Smaller in size (although not essential).

Maybe a new style system link that links multiple TV's to one X-Box 2 console (this would obviously require an idea of an add on to allow more controllers which also deals with the distance the players are to eachother).

Plenty of power to support even larger multiplayers with no slowdown.

Maybe there could be controllers that have a built in memory card along with a visual screen similar to the old Dreamcast controller when it had the memory unit plugged in.
This visual screen could be used to display stats in FPS shooters such as Unreal, your life, etc in a boxing game so that neither player knows when they have the match won and could also be used in things such as football or American football games when doing things such as taking free kicks or changing your formation and tactics.
There are also other little things that could be done - anyone read about the game Phantom Crash ? Then you may know about your little AI pal that helps out in your mech and appears in the form of a pic of a pet such as a dog or cat, etc. Instead of being on screen, they could pop up on your controller and talk to you - preferably with sound so that you don't have to look down to see what its saying to you.
This would no doubt have to be a controller sold seperately, but its still an idea I'd like to see as an option. :-)
The screen could replace the X-Box jewel thing on the controller and around the same size. :-)

As for the mention of net surfing - I'd prefer it didn't. Thats what a PC is for and the whole idea of X-Box Live is to play and enjoy games - not bog at porn and download crap. X-Box Live should remain the experience it is - playing games and downloading extras for them.
Plus giving the option of surfing the net will open up more possibilties of gits dumping viruses into your console.

Anyway, that springs to my mind right now anyway. :-)

...I don't have a spare room.

Also I would like to see games to match the size of the console - ie the size of LPs. :)

Backwards compatability.....better hardware.

I dont really want a multientertainment system as i have cd player and all that stuff....and 3 DVD player cause of this console wars :(

Microsoft buy rockstars and square and capcom and the makers of MGS....and then nintendo and it will be the only one anyone should really need.
