It's is 3rd place in terms of units sold.
Jack & Daxter, and now Rachet & Clank illustrates that Sony ps2 is just as good at cartoon platform exploration as the Ninty Cube. Infact I have seen a few reports that put the Sony offering ahead of Nintendo.
The lack of a DVD movie player is a mistake for Ninty. The cube might be a bit cheaper, but most people will pay that bit extra to get a console that also plays dvd's. Ahh, some you already have a standalone dvd player in the house. True, but many games consoles are not connected to the main tv - they are used in a bedroom or ther room. PS2 and XBox provides these people with a handy 2nd dvd player in a different location. Both XBox and PS2 also use DVD for games which means the games can be much bigger compared with games on the GC.
Price fixing. Even though this only remarks on the last gen consoles, fact is it made it into the main news. This is not good, and is worse for Ninty since they have always pushed the idea that they are more fair, and are not like Sony or anyone else.
Ninty got the price wrong at launch. Nintendo have made a mistake in introducing the Cube at such a low price. Now that there have been price cuts for PS2 and XBox, people are looking to Ninty for a similar cut. But it wont happen until next year. With it's low price, Ninty need to shift lots of Cubes - which it is failing to do.
Uncertain future. While details for PS3 and XBox2 are not firm - and will change again before launch, at least we know that there will be a PS3 and XBox2. Ninty are much more uncertain. One day they say that this GameCube will be the last Ninty console. The next day they claim to be working on GameCube2, but then say that will be the last one. The only thing we can say for certain is that, whatever the market format is at that time, Ninty won't use it.

So you're saying that the GameCube's only title is Super Mario Sunshine?

I didn't.

True, but a games console is a games console, not just a DVD player.

I've seen many multi-disc games in the past, so what's wrong with the GameCube doing the same?

Microsoft fixed their prices at £300 per X-box, and now, nine months on you can buy one for half that! Sony did the same. All companies fix their prices.

Shifting more 'Cubes than you're selling. Anyway, considering it is the games that make the money (the consoles losing money for the companies), Nintendo are more than likely to want to encourage software sales, not console sales.

No they're not.
One day they say that
> this GameCube will be the last Ninty console.
Nintendo never said that. False rumours were made up by twisting something said by Nintendo.
The next day they claim
> to be working on GameCube2,
A next generation console, but I doubt it will be called the GameCube 2.
but then say that will be the last one.
Really? So a successful company is just going to decide to pack it all in, make their staff redundant and get lost to history?

Ofcourse we can - it is us who decide for Nintendo what they're going to design.
Anti-Nintendo fanboy!

The Gaycube is crap!
End.Of.Story!
Nintendo's newest console is making far more money than before and with this new third party agreements the console is set to actually scare Sony in Japan... the Microsoft X-box is just about scaring the Wonderswan :)
Nintendo doesn't have a DVD player because they are going for a cheap games console not an expensive games console with added extras. At the moment Nintendo are making a mistake taking so long to drop the price or at least offer Mario Sunshine for free, afterall Microsoft are offering their console and 2 games for the same price as Nintendo are offering their console and 1 game. Yet Nintendo are selling very well in Europe far better than the N64 did, it is selling as expected in America and very well in Japan.
Nintendo are not falling behind in sales they are still doing far better than they originally hoped. Nintendo have confirmed they are working on a Gamecube 2 but they have yet to reveal details on it and good for them.
Oh wait, hang on a minute, The Gamecube has got the best graphics ever seen (not an over estimate). Look mate, units sold is nothing considering the Gamecube has been out for the least amount of time.
Plus shut your mouth mate, the Gamecube IS the most powerful console and just because it hasn't had 3 years of cheap and tacky back catalouge games on it (PS2) doesn't mean it is crap. Out of the 1000's of PS2 games out there only 1 appeals to me and that is gonna be out on the Gamecube.
The PS2 has had years to produce some decent games and it has failed, where as the Gamecube has about 100 games and I own 6 and about 10 have appealed to me!
So SHUT IT, look at the facts before you throw your pointless thoughts around!
