You sad, sad little man. So, tell me. How many games like StarCraft, Total War, Baldur's Gate, Warrior Kings, Championship Manager, WarCraft III and Diablo II have you played since abandoning the PC?

Simple fact is, there are certain game genres that work better on PCs than they ever have done on consoles.

Oh, and I don't have to wait for my PC to boot up. It automatically defrags and reboots regularly while I'm sleeping.

You are simply bitter because you lack the simple intelligence required to maintain a working PC. That's not the PCs fault, it's yours.

All of this assumes a lot of us want to use the internet on our tv. Thats already poss using the Bush Internet TV or the separate Bush internet set top box. I know it's more basic than using the net via a PC, but it should provide an indicator - to see if it's the kind of thing people want to do.

I was once an incompetant fool like Insane and used my PC to play games, until I realised there was a much easier way console gaming you can take it around to your mates and not spent the whole night deleting files and struggling to get enough performance to run the game. Most people also want a harddrive and a web capabilities on there PS2 or Xbox so they have the net instantly on there TV rather than booting up and waiting for the OS to kick in.

Well I see the XBox hard disc/BB, and PS2 hard disc/BB adaptor as a way of providing faster loading, internet connection + download, and other "game" or "entertainment (ie, music)" features. No one has suggested that PS2 or XBox should be running QuarkXpress or Word. However, I agree that with the next series of consoles, more of the console will be like a PC - even a Sony PS3. That doesnt mean to say they will run QuarkXpress, Word, etc, but it does mean more PC style hardware - but for games and "entertainment" purposes.

Lets NOT go down that road again. That one went on for hours yesterday. Don't try and "trick" people into the same trap again. We know each other's view's on it by now, no need for a re-run.

An interesting point. If you want to back it up, please explain why the PS2 can have a harddrive and internet access, most likely has a mouse and keyboard inproduction, and probably home office software and printing peripherals.

Fact is, the console of the future is merely a standard build and inflexible PC, with all the trimmings. If that's too much to handle don't worry. From your posts I know that even SIMPLE facts are beyond your capcity to comprehend.
