So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.
Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks
In other news Braves have been sold by Time Warner to Liberty Corp. Will be interesting to see how that affects the team
They ban Pete Rose for betting on a game yet Bonds can shoot up all he likes and get fixed figures. It's bull
As far as Bonds breaking the home run record goes, i hope for the love of the sport he doesn't and i hope his numbers are eventually scrubbed from the record books
Clemens still isn't sure what he's doing yet.
The Yankees have signed a sort of partnership agreement with a Chinese club. I think that's what it is. I assume it is a bit like a feeder club type thing.
Great atmosphere, especially the games against Boston, nothing like it i've ever experienced. 57,000 New Yorkers in the same spot at a sporting event = the best atmosphere you'll get anywhere
