So Yankees, as always busy around deadline day and were quite successful. Abreu and Lidle for a bunch of minor league prospects of which only Smith looks half decent. Don't know too much about Lidle to be honest but Abreu will give another strong bat and some experienced coverage for Sheffield while he's out injured (and more than likely replace him for next season) Also picked up Craig Wilson for Chacon to give us another strong bat. Had him in my MVP Baseball 2005 team as well actually. Might mean Andy Phillips doesn't get as much time as he should though which is a shame.

Red Sox and Jays did nothing and we kept hold of Cano, Melky and Phillips so a good trade deadline time all around for the Yanks

True, although i've found many internet players do fall in love with suited cards. (I know i'm always tempted when i get a queen or higher and then another card of the same suit to just have a cheap buy in to see the flop although if it's raised i'll chuck it)

Was surprised to be able to bluff a few people off hands though.

Even that doesn't work. Today for instance, I decided to go all in before the flop with Queens and I got a couple of callers. I had a fair few chips so they were risking a lot. One called me with a 7 8 of spades and got a 4, 5 and 6 of spades. What was he doing in the pot in the first place?

Yea i've started making minimum raises of 5 times the blinds pre-flop. If people want to play their 8 3 off suit they're going to have to pay for it. Of course it means i have to be more selective with my hands though

I've been rubbish recently. Only been the money a couple of times this month. It's either I've been misreading the situation or people have been playing stupid again.

I'd probably go with the latter.

Darn, had a decent outing in my freeroll tournie tonight, ended up in 222nd place out of 2700 players. Had quite a few chips but then lost a stack to an incredibly bad beat (Pocket Aces vs Pocket 4's and he sucked a 4 on the river) and couldn't recover.

I was reading somewhere today that Cashman is hoping to clear some big payrolls so the Yankees can use prospects. A-Rod was the main person mentioned. Something about invoking an opt out clause so A-Rod can move despite having 3 years on his contract left at the end of the season.

GP, know any good english sites that sell the MLB baseball jerseys? I know of Stateside.co.uk but was hoping for cheaper than 40 pounds a pop. Don't want to risk it with the American sites as i might get clobbered with customs
