September:- Price cut to £160

October:- 2 games thrown in for free the incredible Jet Set Radio: Future and SEGA GT 2002

November:- 2 games added for a mere £40 onto the price, two of the X-box's best games Halo and Splinter Cell, and thats including JSRF and SEGA GT 2002.

December:- ?

Come on isn't this a bit overboard now?

Ok...

Xbox needs to do well this Christmas, its already is doing well from sales since the Sega bundle came in, but still needs to make up for the woeful sales during the summer months.

I own an xbox, and don't care about these deals. I happy handed over £300 and though no more I had got what I want. People have set mind frames seeing new package as "great, a deal I want" or "hahah look- FAILURE".

The price tag is £200- not a price drop, but a bundle. A bundle with 3 fantastic games(and an average one). If it helps sell more Xboxs then it is of course is a good thing and MS may continue to change and do new ones.
I'm not in the head of an MS suit who decides these things, but If I was I would slow things down too. But I'm not. And we're not.

MS objective is at the end of the day- to be market leader. If they think this will put xbox ahead in sales then of course they will do it. Some people will say every move MS make to make xbox more attractive to the buyer is "desperate". The comepany have some £19 billion for Gods sake- wake up.

If you want that bundle- get it. If you don't- fine. I personaly don't give a toss about sales anymore. They indicate in no way who is the "best" and I've said that all along. As long of the games are there i'm a happy Xbox owner.

So there!

All companies want to make money and no, Nintendo are customer-hugging hippies. But I like Nintendo because they do care for their customers more than any other big company I know.

As for this bundle lark - I'd consider it if there was one with just Halo and Splinter Cell. Unfortunately, JSRF and SEGA GT 2002 have put me off.

ARGHHHH this latest deal has pi**ed me off.....

Microsoft just dont think about people who have just bought the £160 package do they?

What I reckon is that slowly microsoft are trying to bump the price of the Xbox back up, chucking in a few more gifts in each time.

Like Wookie, I agree with waht everyone has said to an extent.
I like this post quite a lot:

I totally agree with Tiltawhirl on this one - Microsoft are trying to gain a complete monopoly over the console industry that they have over the PC market. They're doing this by trying to buy out every games company that makes decent games, and if they can't do that they get a three month exclusive or something. Although not many people know it, they actually tried to buy out Squaresoft. Thankfully the deal was cancelled at the last minute, and seeing as Sony own a large per cent of the company it will hopefully never happen.

I agree with everyone who's posted here to a certain extent.

Yes, it is absolutely great if you're thinking of buying an Xbox this Christmas. Great value deals all round.

But on the other hand, so many cuts and re-packagings could also serve to alienate existing customers. Generally, when a price cut or new pack is announced, you tend to think "I'll have that" because *usually* a better pack doesn't come along for a while.

Even Savatt said recently that he was feeling slightly screwed by MS, and anyone else who's recently bought one will be feeling equally screwed - jsut as I did when they dropped the price by £100 just 4 weeks after launch.

And the machine hasn't been out a year yet!

So yes, it is a fantastic deal, but it's also very harsh on the early takers of the original package, and the more recent ones.

Have you stopped to think that this may actually *prevent* people from buying an Xbox this side of Christmas, in case a better pack comes out just afterwards?

I realise that some of you are absolutely desperate for the Xbox to succeed, but please take your noses out of MS corporate butt for a short time and realise that what this essentially amounts to is a series of desperation moves by MS to shift some serious numbers. You simply do not release new pack after new pack, month after month.
