Actually though I already knew about multi tracks but thanks anyway :D
:)
What I meant was, if you have some proper artist recording software, such as the Logic (Apple) software I have, you select a track, then click record. The software will record whatever the input is in the red port. If you had a mic in there, then it records whatever's coming in through the mic. If you plug your guitar in there direct, you get perfect clean guitar and the volume and tone pots still work. If you want a slightly more rugged sound, you can link it up via the amp (using a cable coming from the headphones port).
Better?
:P
I've been teaching my sister bass.
I'm following so far (I think?).

But I didn't get this...
I have software.
But what did you mean by "because you can then record your guitar and stuff direct instead of through a mic, which is just for singing."
Bob is confused.
You'll need a converter, to stick on the end to make it a small jack. This then gets rammed into the (red) socket I think. You know where your speakers are there is a green, red and blue socket? Yeah. There.
Then you nedd some recording software. Mine cost me £20 ish with a mic. Its well worth it though, because you can then record your guitar and stuff direct instead of through a mic, which is just for singing.
That's patchy and I'm tired, I'll do a smart version if you need it...
Or do you need some kind of recorder?
