The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
So... the purpose of this thread. Nominate a game.... preferably one that will be easy for people to get gold of (whether by rental, emulation, download, or whatever), and the rest of us will try it out.
I'd start the ball rolling by nominating the following:
UFO: enemy unknown (can be downloaded off the net somewhere)
QuazatronParadroid (get a C64/Spectrum emulator and rom)
I've always been meaning to play Secret of Mana, but I never got around to it. Lots of other retro games mentioned, too.
I have a lot of work on at the moment, but some time next week I'm going to find emulator sites for some of these retro games, and post the links here so the rest of you will get around to trying them too. I do intend on playing just about every game that gets mentioned in this thread, if at all possible, so keep it up.
Thats a nice stat for Rare to have. I love Rare.
I might phone them and ask them to marry me.
Anyway.. GOLDENEYE.
I hope this topic takes off really well.
The Super Nintendo game that I will now claim as my best game I have ever played/owned and completed.
Damn it. Its too good. Especially when you have two more people to play co-op with you.
> Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast).
Would you mind incredibly if I waited for the Gamecube version?
(It's also due out on the PS2)
Ghouls and Ghosts on the Megadrive. Fantastic old-school platformer, tough, but with fantastic music!
Phantasy Star: Sega Master System, because it's a great console RPG, with a top story. Alis was amongst the first lead female characters in a game. Girl Power etc.
Fantasy Zone 2: Sega Master System. Nice little scrolling shooter, excellent lead character!
Legend of Zelda: Oracina of Time, or A Link to the Past. Or Link's Awakening.
Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World.
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Chrono Trigger, though I believe it's already been mentioned.
