Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

With all the new games coming out, people forget the old classic games such as F-Zero X, games that sold the Nintendo 64 and that just because it's old you can't have a great multiplayer with your friends gathered round the TV.
This is one of the most exhilarating and fastest racers you can buy.
The courses vary from a simple oval speed track of the Jack cup to the twists and curves of the Joker Cup. On top of that you get a random track generator as well. Isn't it great???!!!
Track varies from tarmac to ice to a cylinder or a half-pipe and you get jumps and boosters too!
Also, even if you fall of the side of the track, you can still play in the form of a slot-machine game - if you get 3 matching symbols, you can do wonders to the enemy cars.
Here are a list of the many characters and their profiles.

Name Vehicle Body Boost Grip

Captain Falcon Blue Falcon B C B
Dr. Stewart Golden Fox D A D
Pico Wild Goose B B C
Samurai Goroh Fire Stingray A D B
Jody Summer White Cat C C A

Plus if at the vehicle select screen, you press all the c-buttons and the shoulder buttons, the cars will become really small, but be warned, they still pick up a fair speed though.
Generally, you'd want a racer with at least a "B" rating in a category. Boost seems to be not as important, but Grip and Body are both equally important. I find Dr. Stewart to be my favourite car and as an experienced player, don't need the handling and body as much, but need a good boost to win those cups! He has a fairly moderate weight and won't get pushed around too much by the heavier cars. Good luck!
Special Reserve sell this at £9.99 and at this price, if you don't have it it's not doing to take much of a bite into your wallet, even if you are saving up for Perfect Dark. In fact, your wallet should be doing a little jig right now. If you don't already have it, get it now.
I have barely said anything about this game and all its options, but hopefully this will encourage you to find out more about this classic game.
Informtion availiable from the Special Reserve discussions forums.

i think your absolutly right foggy. without the classics we wouldn't be where we are today with games. people are slagging off the "oldies"and are forgeting about just how important they are to next generation consoles. They are setting the standard and are still some of the best games around!.

It made me sad when every one stopped talking about the old classics.
Mario64, Diddy Kong, Lylat wars, just because new games like the much antisipated Perfect Dark, and other games alike have pushed these old beuties to one side out of our view!
When these games came out I was one of the first to buy them, I loved every minute when playing them! I couldn't stop slamming Mario's aris onto the hard floors of Mario land! or doing power slides into my mates On the snow lands Of diddy kong racing, or even running around my mates in Lylat wars! I own all these games but I never find the time to play on them, with my PC, and all new games coming out, there aren't enough hours in the day!
My point is that I would like you, the gamer to remember the N64 roots, and maybe just play the old games, you may even find that you like them again!
After Gamedudes comments on Lylat wars I switched it on, it's soooooo much fun! although I completed it a week after I bought it, it was not finished, I don't know if anyone else that owns this superb game has the little walkaround option, but it's really good! just jumping on your mates tank and running after them with a tiny but powerful lazer! I love the look on my mates faces when they are left with one wing on their plane!
I don't know maybe some people like it better with no wings! the ship is a lot faster! ha ha nap nap,
Did anyone get the resemblance of this game and Independance day?
Well sorry for going on a bit, but I would really like some people to reply with their thoughts.

tell me how many kids you know under 14 yrs that have a N64, i'm 16 I love it I backed it up from day one and am very proud! I can't wait until Perfect Dark and that dragon whatsit comes out!
And I don't think that the N64 should turn their brilliant N64 into a better version of the ps because thats what it would be! nintendo make the cartoons because thats what they are good at! Anyway once you get past the cute cuddly look of the game, you realise how good it is! (E.G. Diddy Kong Racing, Zelda!) these games are not easy to complete and I would think that 10 year olds would find it difficult! it took me a coulple of hours to figue out you had to fall down the centre of the tree in Zelda! you wait until you see the list of games on the dolphin, you want violance you'll get tons of blood!

OI rob!!!! you are right. I never realized that before but what you is sayin is true(!) they have only gone and copied nearly all the N64's big hits and turned them into a big pile of S***.
although however that also is the case for Nintendo....sometimes. Banjo-Kazooie??? eassily recognisable as Crash Bandicoot. and by far the most over rated game on the N64.

I know most people are trying not to compare this game to GoldenEye, so I'm going to try to stay away from it (but I might stick in a few comments here and there). Before I get into the gameplay details, I would like to say that this is a spy game, totally unlike GoldenEye. It's like trying to compare an apple and an orange - you can't. This game is like the movie and is very strategic. The graphics are smooth and comparable to GoldenEye but the music and sound effects can't match up. The sound would have been much better for a CD based console that I won't mention the name of :). The control isn't that great, and it takes a while to learn to actually kill your enemies accurately. You need a lot of patience while playing the levels because since it is a spy based game, the slightest thing you do wrong will get you caught and you fail your mission. That brings the replay value way down and makes the game less fun. Overall, it's not that bad of a game, but if you're looking for another GoldenEye, you definitely won't find it.
