Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

There is only one thing to say to nintendo nad that is keep to the release dates as much as possible. No one is complaining once the games do come out but the wait is sometimes to much. Take for example perfect dark. Arguably (but in my mind) the best game ever released on any console. It was delayed at least 5 times. Now what nintendo must do with the Game cube is keep to the dates as much as possible. The game cube will obivously be the best console ever, but release dates are not meet then people will complain. I cannot wait for the release just like the next person.

The game cube will come out, and a year later Nintendo will be making something new. But back to a four player Double Dragon, that sounds good, they were a great series of games, and two player mode was always the most fun! The only problem is, it'll probably never happen. Nintendo will Make a Mario 64 type game starting Luigi or some one like that, and then, about a year later, they'll make a Zelda game. What they should do is grab a NES and a SNES and play the great games from them, then Make 128 bit versions! Just imagin a 3D version on Maniac Mansion. And isn't it about time we had an update of the classic Super Punch Out? And why not make a new Golden Axe while they're at it (Ok, so that wasn't nintendo, but they should still do it). And I'm still waiting for a graphically impressive console version of Street Rod, now that would be good! But I think we all know what the N64 needed and didn't have, a high quality Beat 'em up! On the SNES we had the Street Fighters, Killer Instinct and the Mortal Kombats (Infact I liked MK4 on the N64, but no-one else seemed to!) So until they make something violent of this quality Nintedo will always be at the bottom of the game world. Get Rare to do Killer Instinct 3D!!!

I had the idea of a great game. Like diablos great pokemon massacre, this is also a deathmatch. Imagine mario and chums battling it out for supreme power and they could also have their own trademark moves. Now you may be thinking wwf meets super smash bros but imagine it. Bowser with a rocket laucher that fires his bowser shells. Mario who has his explosive stars. Donkey Kong with his array of banana weapons and many more. Items to be picked up including bommoms(those little cute bombs)Upgades for weapons( damage enhancers, shields, health, disarming weapons) Also many modes including co-missions where you have to stop bowser collecting up all the 100 stars which together create a force so strong that marios world will be plunged into darkness forever. All the stars should help mario and teach him new powers including flight (with aid of stars). All the characters games should colide with donkey kong having to find all the lost bananas and then returning to find all his friends and family gone and a photo of bowser pinned to the wall. He must explore all the six worlds to rescue his family including diddy, lanky, chunky and so on and when fould will be available in multiplayer all with unique banana moves. You can see what i'm getting at and as this is one of the (only) fields of game mario has'nt covered I think it is inevitable and could be a classic by being unique and a great multi-player bash so I think this could be a good laugh and fun game as it has never been done before.
p.s sorry for making it so long(oops that made it even longer)

The other day I was pondering over which console I would most like to purchase (if I had the money) and then it hit me: does it matter? I should only pick the console which has the games I want to play. If I want a console to play deathmatch or mario i'd pick the n64. If I want to play platformers i'd pick the playstation. If I wanted fighting games i'd pick the dreamcast and so on. There is no right console theres the one youve got and other gaming altenatives.

Bass Head -

Regardless of tedious specs....

Nintendo don't make games for anyone else, and they're the best baby.

That was one big thing the N64 was lacking, a light gun.

There were so many 1st person shooters, if you could have had a light gun with maybe an analogue stick and a couple of well placed buttons under the thumb and along the trigger, and some software to go with it of the usual high standards, the nintendo would have had everything.
