Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

Gran Turismo 2 was quickly rushed so Gran Turismo 3 could be ready for the PS2. I'm sure sony really do take care with their games... (yeah right)

Just because the times are changing it doesn't mean you have to move on! I still play my old SNES games, as well as my N64 games and I will continue to do so. With the big N bringing out a new console it doesn't mean you have to throw out your old one. Consoles are timeless. It doesn't matter if the games have great graphics or not, it's the gameplay that counts. I'd rather play one of my Dizzy games on my nice old Commodore 64 than play on some of the new games that have been churned out of the last few months.
I'm not saying that I don't think the Gamecube should not be released, as I can't wait to get one, but until then (and after then) I will have my trust N64, SNES and Commodore 64 to play on and get as much entertainment from them as I always have done.

...but remember when the master system and mega drive lived in harmony, providing for big sp/b-enders and cheap skates (me) alike. Those were the days...

so, my memory card is finally filled up (nothing I want to delete). I could buy new ones, but I have 4 reddies and with 1 more I could get the free pad + memory card, then I wouldn't need one. It's the only good free N64 gift now I have TRW.

So if I buy memory I'll end up with far more than I need and it'll be a big waste of money cos I'll never use it all, but if I don't then I'll have no memory at all.
I couldn't just buy another game really, cos I already have Road Rash on the way (buy this now, a steal at £15) and a free game when I get the urge, plus nothing else that catches my eye is released yet.

So, I'm an ungreatful sod who's free stuff gets in the way of buying things and sets me off whinging.

But if I do buy the memory cards, it'll be a big waste of money right after, but if I don't buy them I can't save anything new.

This is a problem with all video games consoles, by Sony Nintendo and sega, with the speed of technology these days the makers of the console keep finding new ways to improve their machines as the components used in them evolve. As a new console is made, the N64 for example, the SNES became out-dated and so support stopped.

This is happening faster and faster, the Atari 2600 was around for over a decade and a half, the nes for around 8 years (Famicom launched in Japan 1983) and the SNES lasted 6 and, as we know, the N64 is begining to fizzle out now after 4.

Basicaly people are finding new ways to double the power of a system faster so consoles come and go faster along with their games.

As a matter of fact, the PSX is still selling more than the N64, and it is certainly not struggling to keep it. I also don't find a special quality Nintendo games have, I actually prefer PSX games. Not sure why, I just do. We all have different tastes, I suppose. I DON'T BUY CHIPPED GAMES AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DOES EVERYONE GO ON ABOUT CHIPPED GAMES!!!! SONY ALSO TAKE TIME WITH THEIR GAMES!!!!! (Take MGS and Gran Turismo 2 for instance)

Playstation now struggle to keep up with the n64 due to it being a lot less advanced. n64 would be god if it wasnt for their extreme prices when they started o9ut. The playstation sell more consoles because you can 'chip' your console to play imports for a fiver a shot.Nintendo take time preparing their games(take perfect dark for instance it has been delayed more times than a train from london but you can see where the time went)and are always of a good quality.

The gamecube, in fact, is very small. I mean, look at the size of the disc, now compare that to the disc drive. My point is made. I really like the design of the Gamecube, one of "the few", and I also like the design of the controller.
