Here a question.

How long do people think the N64 has left to live?

With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?

People are always saying how the N64 has no good fighting games or racing games. But i think this review I wrote of Ridge Racer 64, just might change a few peoples minds...

Racing games, have never been the N64's strong point. Sure, it could do some very fun Kart games, but very rarely were players gifted with a proper racing game that used real cars as opposed to Go-Karts or Spacecraft. But now, that tradition has been broken. A long time ago, as most people will know, a game was released on the Playstation which had huge impact on the racing world. Ridge Racer was the name of the game, and people went wild over the then lush graphics, and the small choice of cars. Soon after, becuse of its huge success, A sequel was released, Ridge Racer Revolution. It had more cars, more tracks, and more fun. And now, the N64 has finnaly caught up on Namco's Arcade style racer. At last Nintendo owners can play that famous game. What N64 owners get, is basically Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer Revolution AND Ridge Racer 64, all in one cart. As well as about a million extra bells and whistles to bring the game up to date. Firstly, the amount of cars is ludicrous... The game includes 31 in all (Including 6 secret ones) each with diffrent physics and bodywork, and each introducing a new way to play. The amount of tracks is also bewildering. There are all the tracks from each of the 3 RR games, and none of them dissapoint. Diffrent times of day are used on diffrent tracks to give a more realistic feel, and when it is nighttime, you should see the motion blur on the lights of the cars. It simply is amazing.

One of the best parts of the Ridge Racer series was always the ridiculous powerslides that you could pull of using a special trick on corners. Well this feature is back, and more prominent then ever. And, if you're not satisfied with the Sliding scheme from RR64? Just switch on Original or Revolution styles for a quick blast to the past. A very original feature about the game, is the novel way in which you win new cars. Once you have beaten the first couple of stages, a new mode appears on the title screen called 'Car Attack' it allows you to have a one on one race with a car, and if you succeed in beating it, you win the ability to drive it. It is a small feature, but one that really adds to the whole RR64 feel. All in all, if you want a racing game with high octane thrills, and a huge challenge as well as enough options and cars to last you another 200 years, RR64 is the definite N64 racer.

You probably think I'm crazy for posting the last message, but it was just to see if you could write crap without putting in a @. Why do people do that?

I feel I must reply to Nic,

Firstly, are you for real? 'FF7 is the only decent game on the PlayStation'. I'm sorry, but that is definitely the dictionary definition of 'an invalid point'. Have you ever played MGS? Or GT2? Surely you should play a console more before basing your comments on obviously narrow evidence.

And just because Crash is coming out on the GameCube, it does not mean that all the PSX sequels of 'tired' games are arriving on the GC. Final Fantasy, to use your examples, has all of its confirmed sequels on the PS2. GT3 will be on the PS2. MGS2 will be on the PS2. And the list goes on...

I am a big Nintendo fan, but I blame most of Nintendo fans' anti-PSX views on influences such as NOM and other Nintendo propaganda, which says how bad the PSX israther than saying how good the N64 is. Surely Nintendo realise that the large fanbase of Sony's console must be swayed to get anywhere near the numbers of their opponents sales, which is why their advertising is aimed at them rather than existing Nintendo fans.

I remember always seeing 1080 Snowboarding Adverts in the cinema's.

I've only seen the Perfect Dark advert once.
I've only seen the Star Wars Episode 1 Racer Advert twice.
The same with the Zelda advert.
My Brothers seen the Pokémon SNap advert once and that's about it really.

Oh yeah Nintendo used to advertise Wario Land on the Gameboy a lot when they used to put The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on C4 at six o'clock.

IT said something like this:

"IT's a me Wario....Forget about that loser MArio and play with me WArio"

IT may be slightly wrong as it's been years since I last saw that advert!
