How long do people think the N64 has left to live?
With games like Perfect Dark, Zelda: The Continuing Sage, Turok 3, A Resident Evil game, Top Gear Rally 2, and a bunch of other wicked games this year. How long will the N64 live for? Specially with the PS2 and Dolphin on the horizon how much longer can the N64 last?
Cooky
Also as soon as the N64 got Goldeneye everyone wanted to play it but Playstation owners couldn't and got jealous so they just start dissing the N64 because maybe they couldn't handle that the Playstation didn't get all the 'greatest' games.
And some Playstation owners think that the N64 is a kiddy console. SO WHAT IF THE GRAPHICS ARE CUTESY AS LONG AS IT PLAYS WELL. If you look at conkers bad fur day it LOOKS like another cutesy Banjo-Kazooie style Rare game but it is as rude as (if not worse than) south park and the fact that its a cute squirrel just makes it all the funnier!
I think that when playstation owners saw a better console than theirs that they had been saying for months wouldn't be anywhere near as good as Playstation and realised it was better just decided to tke the p**s out of it coz they didn't want to admit they were wrong.
Mario and Sonic, I think are the best games characters ever made.
(Who on EARTH could think James Bond is a games character?)
But don't get me wrong. Mario is the best. People may find him too cute, but things are good cute. Could you imagin a short, fat, satanic plumber with a mustache running around killing people? aaahh aaahhh ahhha hhh ccccchhhhooooo!!!!! Excuse me, I have a cold. (cough cough) Anyway, my point is NES is right, if that is your real name.
In a recent survey, children of the U.K. were asked who they'd recognise first out of Super Mario and Tony Blair. Predictably, the majority of answers were Mario. He's been in numerous platform games as well as Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Mario Party, Mario and Yoshi, Dr. Mario and more! He's even popped up in Super Smash Brothers and Tetris! Bob Hoskins acted as the starring role in, "Super Mario Brothers", the film dedicated to Nintendo's best character, he starred in his own cartoon and sold a stagerring amount of merchandise world-wide! For the launch of Super Mario 64 back in 1996, Nintendo gave away limited edition t-shirts featuring Mario along with 3D glasses to view him with! He also had his own kid's show between 1983 and 1985. "The Super Mario Brothers Super Show" was considered very popular with children and who else would play the role of Mario other than wrestler, Lou Albano!
Ever wonder how Mario received his name? Then wonder no longer because he was named after a Seattle warehouse manager who rented space to inexperienced Nintendo developers! Did you always think Mario was a plumber? Then you were wrong because he was a carpenter intent on rescuing a girl called Pauline in the Donkey Kong game in 1981. (This game can be played in Donkey Kong 64). So, the dirty rat didn't always fancy Princess Toadstool aferall! Luigi has forever lived in his brother's shadow and it wasn't until 1983 when Super Mario Brothers was launched on the Nes, that the world learnt that Mario had a brother. (However, Luigi has a chance to break away when Luigi's Mansion is released for Gamecube).
Although the Olympics are over, if Mario were to compete he'd obviously win a Gold medal as his equivalent triple jump would send him sailing a nearly 12 metres beyond the current world record! Think that's impressive, then if you were able to jump as high as Mario's standard jump, you could leap over a speeding double-decker bus!
For all of the above reasons, Mario is undoubtedly the best character in video games history! Since his creation, Mario games have sold more than 120 million copies world-wide! All this is thanks to the world's greatest games designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, who before his creation designed artwork for Nintendo playing cards!
Point proven.
