Now, I was a little annoyed with SR getting rid of the gaming threads.

So please share your Championship Manger experiences in here.

Currently i am Sheffield Wednesday in the year 2030. This is the furthest I have ever got in any champ man game! THe other ones used to stop after 2026. Anyone know when it does end? If ever?

Anyways, whats the most you have sold someone for? Mine is £88M. Well chuffed with that sale. It was one of my home grown players as well. Came through the reserves and was a great hit.

Okay everyone. Here's some transfer advise.
GOALKEEPERS: There aren't many good ones for sale, but I found a fantastic Russian keeper for about 5-10 million. His goalkeeping stats are all 18's and 19's, shame I don't know his name. Don't forget the famous Chilavert, but I just buy him because he takes free-kicks and pens for Paraguay. If you're rich, just get Buffon.

DEFENDERS: Taribo West, free, amazing defensive stats. (Strength, Tackling, Marking, Positioning). Good enough for anyone.
Christian Panucci. Fantastic player, only £5 million, develops well, good for teams on the rise. (helped in my Chievo rise).
Bogarde. Another top team reject good for rising clubs. Only £3 million or so, once again, helped Chievo.
Javier Zanetti. Great right-back, one of the best on the game in the first season if you really need a rightt-back (to replace Gary Neville). £20 million, usually signs after he signs a new contract with Inter, strange.
Alessandro Nesta. Amazing stats, amazing player. £20 millions, good enough for anyone, may not sign though.

Midfielders: Veron is probably one of the best on the game, but if you're no United, you probably won't have him for a while. Not really transfer advice, is it?
Patrick Vieira. Will only move to the bigger clubs (who aren't English), but is amazing. Hefty price though, £30 million, but it's worth it.
Francessco Totti, same as Vieira, amazing, only move to big clubs, but about £40 million. GULP.
Aritazabal. Free transfer, quite old, good stats, good for small clubs, Division one, poo foreign clubs. Worth it.
Probably more, but I can't remember and can't be bothered.

Strikers: Always keep an eye on Cherno Samba of Millwall. Excellent prospect for the future.
Also keep an eye on Antonio Cassano of Roma. Another Superb prospect of the future.
Christian Vieri usually wants to move, great player, left sided which there aren't many of, and usually costs around £30-35 million. Worth it.
Van Nistelrooy is one of the best, along with Crespo, but won't be for sale, so lets move on.
Keep an eye on Diego Tristan, because he usually becomes available for cheap for some daft reason. Great player and great stats, 20 dribbling and 20 finishing. About £5 million for me, what a bargain.
Emile Mpenza can also become available for cheap, but can also become one of the most expensive on it, buy him early if he looks promising.
I always buy Maccarone with lower clubs, I don't know why, he's rubbish, but I do. My advise, only if you're desparate.

Coaches: One name and one name only, Pomaski. You will want him as your assistant or head coach.

Hope this advise helps.

Okay, I meant Chievo, not CHEVIO. Sorry.

I've had some great teams on Champ Manager (without cheating), but the best thing I have ever done is, in my third season, win Serie A and get to the Champions League final with CHEVIO. I had Vieri and Tristán upfront, Lopez on the left, Paauwe in midfield with some who I can't remember, and blah blah blah. But don't forget, no matter who you are, Taribo West is a great signing, FOR NOTHING!!
Furthest I've got is season ten, but with it being loads of made up players who are poo, it was poo, so I deleted it. But Van Nistelrooy was amazing and scored about 800 goals in 600 games. AMAZING!
Oh yeah, what's gonna be new on Champ Manager 4?

If you've used the same tactics for 1 or 2 years in the game then yes i would change them.

A customized 3-1-3-1-2 which is too hard to put it accurately on this msg board without having a preview button

Have you used the same formation all the time up until the time? If so have a change around as i think the computer has developed a counter to your tactic and exposing all its weaknesses which is why you're having trouble maintaining form
