How many shops have you been in this Christmas and seen PS2 games being sold for £29.99 or less. Comet, Dixons, PC World they are all at it and the reason they can afford to sell PS2 games at that price is the fact they can offset the price against the many more sales they will get for that particular title.

Then ask yourself how many Xbox and GC titles you see for these sort of prices Sony make gaming affordable hell they even have Platinium games that are £20 or 2 of £30 in a lot of places.

Which is why the PS2 is the most expensive console out on its own right now, and has the worst deals out of the lot too.

Ah, another superbly ill-informed topic by Cherry.

How one man can hold such a monopoly on the world's quota of witless buffoonery, I don't know.

Xbox has Dvd player as well and could also be used as a second. Also graphic's are much more detailed, you don't need a memory card because of built in hard-drive (ps2 needs lots of expensive memmory cards.) Xbox had surround sound 5.4 dolby which gives better atmosphere to games that are compatible. No decent or New games will be availible for Ps2 at that price. expect the xbox game prices to drop soon seeing as xbox has been out for a shorter period most of the platinum games are over a year old and most people have them anyway.

Ps2 is a very good console don't get me wrong i just prefer xbox and the games for ps2 at cheap prices, is not a reason to buy the console.

Gamecube is an excelent console and i expect the game prices to drop soon also, so in my opinion just going for game prices is meaning the games are old and bord of.

Anyway why be a cheapskate!

XBox + GC are a bit cheaper, but....
1) I have seen GC bundles costing £199.99 - bundle prices (common at Xmas time) distort any price difference.
2) Looks like most poeple still want PS2 - so the fact that GC and XBox are a bit cheaper consoles has no meaning.

And yes, some people do already have a DVD player (so a GC is ok without a built in one), but many PS2's are used in another room in the house, where there is no DVD player at the moment. Thus PS2 DVD player becomes many homes 2nd DVD movie player. Handy!
