Item= Nevermeltice/Dark Glasses (If you have Crunch)

If you want crunch breed Tyranitar Male which has Crunch (Yeah) with Feraligatr Female.

Harribo get your facts straight there is no golden gyarados in the game Ice blaster is right saying that the red and the gold are the same thing usually on fake or emulated pokÈmon GS the red gyarados looks gold. The gold gyarados is a rumour all over the internet but is not true i have tried everything i can think of to get one but can't get it.

If your so eager to get a gold gyarados head over to ign.com and look for gold and Silver cheats and there should be one for any colour pokemon but be warned it can seriosly damage your game.

golden Gyrados and Red

My fave moves are the same as Joe_Polys but with a few differences:

Thunder Wave
Seismic toss
reversal (When used by Heracross with not much health left)
counter
Mirror Coat
Reflect
Mega Horn
Safe Guard

there are loads more but i would be here for years.

Fissure is good as a last resort same as explosion

Earthquake better than dig

Dig good in RBandY but rubbish in GSandC

Ice beam now the best Ice Attack

Blizzard was best Ice Attack but lost accuracy and freeze rate made me lose respect for this move

Psybeam The confuse makes this move good but quite weak

Psychic Powerful in the hands of a high special attack pokÈmon.

Fire blast quite accurate and powerful

Hydro Pump same as FB but i prefer Surf at times

Thunder i think the same as you good when it hits

Solar beam good except for the charge up use sunny day if you can
