I downloaded a boot disc for PS2 today but have no Idea how it's supposed to work or even if it works.....any Ideas anyone?

Where from? There may be some instructions at the site.

Boot disc ? what for ?

Anything to do with copying and pirating is frowned upon from a great height here so don't expect too much help.

On the other hand an official Gamecube boot disc is due to be launched for the purposes of playing imports, which is exactly what the DC boot disc was used for, and hopefully the PS2 will have one of it's own.

If the PS2 was going to get one I'm sure it would have been released by now !

Sony are not interested in releasing anything that will help to reduce game prices and therefore their profits in Europe..

I've just looked it up and it basically serves the same purpose as DVD region X. (allows you to boot the PS2 in a valid region and then swap discs)

You do have to open the disc tray manually, which means taking the face off. I saw a company that manufactures a new case with a flip top lid which would solve that problem, if you can be bothered.

Can you tell me where you downloaded it from? I want to try something.

Which official gamecube boot disc is this, the freeloader???
