SCEI said it sold a total of 8.5 million PlayStation 2 consoles during November and December, a jump of 24 percent on the previous year. Of those sales, 4 million were in the North American market, 3.4 million were in the European market and 940,000 units were in the Japanese market. End of year domestic sales were down 27 percent; however, those in North America and Europe were up 42 percent and 27 percent respectively.
Along with the console there are also more than 1,500 software titles available, production of which has passed 300 million units, said SCEI.

Yes but at the end of the day I haven't got shares in Ninty and don't intend on buying any. So their profit margin doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me, as long as they keep making some of the best games in the world then i'll keep buying them and i'll be very happy.
Don't give me the "PS2 has more developers, which means more games" line. Quantity certainly doesn't mean quality as the PS2 proves.

For everyone: Remove the space
For Nintys: A space means a gap between characters, place the cursor just to the left of it (using your mouse) and press the Delete key on your keyboard. The Delete key is the one with the word 'Delete' written on it.
The graph is a nice one, starts at the top left in February 2002, then plummets nicely downwards and right towards its alltime low, with a little blip at Christmas. If you'd bought £10,000 Ninty shares this time last year, you'd now have £5,000.
Heh.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot that Nintendo was selling a game every 3 seconds in the days of the NES and a game every 30 seconds in the days of the SNES. How could I forget the Gameboy being the biggest selling console ever and Nintendo having made more PROFIT than Microsoft and Sony? Oh yeah, they're out for the count aren't they?
Wear the hat with pride, Top Score: you've won it fair and square.

What do you people do to your machines? My pre-order machine is still fine, as is all the machines that all my mates have.
It also includes the number of replacements Sony have had to make, I've had to have one replaced, and most other people I know have had a problem with their PS2, during the warranty period.
