Lately when i have been playing some of my new games on my pc, i have noticed that the graphics seem a bit smudged , and not very sharp. Also that with the more sophisticated games i have noticed more glitches and some places in a level , especially outside that the detail gets very messed up and sometimes there are bits of the backround missing.
So if i bought a graphics card for my computer would it help these problems and make the game look sharper etc ? Also if it is a graphics card i need is there any ones that you could recommend to me as a first time buyer?
Last thing is are they hard to fit , and is it best to let a special reserve technichan fit it for me.
Will be greatful for any advice on this topic, or some answers to my questions.
Dave :)

Yes, avoid the 200 as far as possible, get an original MX or a 400, there's a noticeable difference.

So as this my first graphics card , and i havent got much money, my best bet is the Geforce 2 mx400 ? Also is it much better than the mx200.

I can't find any reviews of it, probably because its such a crappy card. I will steer clear of it then, I can't find the MSI version of it for a decent price anywhere, but I have noticed the Abit Siluro version for a good price at Dabs.com (I love that website).
Does DVI with monitors improve visual quality enough to justify bying a card with it?

Yes, Pine made my GF2 MX200. It sucked. Worst card I'd used in a long time, even as a budget model the performance was abysmal.

Whilst on the subject of Graphics Cards, I have found a Geforce3 Ti200 with DVI and VO for about £159, including VAT and P+P. This card is made by "Pine", and comes with the cheesy moniker, Pine "Excalibur" GF3 Ti200. Has anyone heard of Pine before, I haven't. It seems like a
half-decent deal to me.

OK, probably should trust madonion.com less. Geforce3 Ti500
IS the most powerfull video card so far, and yes, Nvidia do rule.

Wrong. The Geforce 3 Ti 500

Gah. People still arguing about this, OCuk forums for weeks..the Radeon has some extra features built in which help it perform better in certain games and benchmarks, but I'd go with the Ti500 as an all round card, 'tis lovely.

*strokes*

nVidia rule anyway.
