Secondly, there are strong rumours that GTA3 will be coming to the Gamecube. PlanetGamecube are carrying the story, and apparently got it from a reputable source. The GBA version of the game, however, is rumoured to have been canned.
GTA3 on Gamecube is an interesting concept, mostly because it's considered to be one of the best PS2 games. There have been rumours in the past that the franchise was going to become Sony exclusive, but it doesn't look to be so now.
Apparently it was around 6 to 8 weeks from completion, and they were looking at April as a time to release it.
Since the success of GTA3 Rockstar are planning on GTA4, and are coming up with ideas left right and centre for what else they can incorporate into the game.
Maybe they've come up with an idea to link the GBA version with the Gamecube version and have held the GBA game up, though they're not developing it themselves, to incorporate a link between the two?
Either that or it played crap on the GBA, so was scrapped.
Just some thoughts, anyhow.
> FF is almost a definite no. Nintendo and Square will never make up.
No, but Square are the ones who suffer. They are desperate to make GBA games.
MGS is
> also very doubtful, because Sony would never let it happen and Kojima likes Sony
> too much.
Kojima has said that he likes the Gamecube hardware.
I'm sure we'll get something from him sooner or later.
As for Shenmue, well, the department itsn't really commited to
> Nintendo.
Actually, Mr Suzuki said that the Gamcube impressed him much more than the other two and he wanted to make games for it, so I'm sure an announcement should come sooner or later.
I think he's concentrating on the PS2 for now because that's where the money is.
>PS2 sux a** cos Sony are stoopid, and Nintendo
>rocks coz it has loadsa good stuff, and
>Sony only has rubbish stuff. Xbox suks
>to coz no one has a house big enuff for
>one!
Ant, stop being so childish...
*secretly rewards Ant*
>And MGS, well, it's the best game ever, isn't it? It has the emotion, power, graphics, gameplay and sound to be the >greatest ever made, and if MGS2 lives up to standards then, well, the GameCube will have no hope whatsoever. >Well, actually, it doesn't stand a chance in hell until they actually confirm a release date.
Damn right Sibs, well said.
(anyway, what establishment?)
*looks around for establishment, but just sees chaos, and many banners reading "Sibs is a shtwonk"*
:)
*racks his brain*
Ah, I know!
PS2 sux a** cos Sony are stoopid, and Nintendo rocks coz it has loadsa good stuff, and Sony only has rubbish stuff. Xbox suks to coz no one has a house big enuff for one!
(there we go... now the debate should really hot up)
> ooh... a debate hotting up eh?
Nah, this really is luke warm by our standards.
And MGS, again It was quite fun, but I wasn't a big fan. Sections of it were good fun, and some were pretty inventive but I just felt it didn't have that spark.
And as for Burnout, it looks OK, but most realistic racers have the looks, but have dull gameplay. Still, at least it lets you crash (unlike some 'realistic' PS2 racers, mentioning no names). Futuristic or Kart racers are generally much more fun. Oh, and Wave Race is good.
