Infact the PS2 version has extras, that are geared more towards the PS2 user as they demand more and have higher skill level, not my words but the actual developers comments.
Then again I can imagine that it's a hard game for Xbox users because of their poorly designed controllers.

yeh i could see how it would be offensive to Nintendo's niche market you have to be 18 to play the game so that excludes every GC owner anyway, stick to Pikmin and Mario they are much more on your level.

Oh but it must be good, it had lots of mindless swearing in it.

That because half of them aren't out yet, fool. And Sunshine was in the all formats when it came out. As was Pikmin.

The PS2 doesn't have dolby 5.1 either - only the xbox has. The Getaway is unoriginal. It's Driver/GTA with a London setting. You can keep The Getaway - it's rubbish with rubbish controls and stupid missions. The only original thing they did was mapping a few square miles of London. Big deal. That's like buying someone an empty loo roll for Xmas as a present but putting it in the most expensive gaudy present box you can find.
Metroid a Halo rip-off? Idiot. It's been around longer than you. and it's not even an FPS, it's an FPS Adventure. And there is a distinction between the two.
Pikmin a Lemmings rip-off? Now you're just getting desparate. It's ORIGINAL. Which is more than I can say for your arguments.
What? Zelda, Metroid Prime, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin....
Talk to me about unoriginal games you have just showed me a list that demonstrates why Nintendo are in the position they are in now.
Zelda = that sounds familar
Metroid Prime = halo rip-off
F-Zero = a remake
Mario Sunshine = (yawn yawn) been here before.
Pikmin = lemmings rip-off
Where are the games have been released in the all formats chart, yes you have guessed it nowhere to be seen.
The Getaway unoriginal I don't think so, the GC could not even fit a game this big on to there cutesy GC disc, then again the superb sound effects would not be possible on the GC because it doesn't have dolby 5.1. If they did put it on the GC it would have to be compressed so much the sound would be anyway.

No. It's more simple than that. Put Hawks 4 in a PS2 and a GC. The GC version will load up quicker because the disc is smaller and therefore the laser has a smaller surface area to read from. Bingo! The GC game loads up faster than the PS2 version.
Seriously though, coming from the days when you had to wait 5 mins plus for a game to load on the Amiga/Speccy etc. and not even sure whether it'll work or not, makes me glad that the games load fairly quick. No-one's bothered with loading times or the size of discs. And the only people who keep harping on about it are people that don't even own the console they're talking about. So why make an issue of such a non event?

What? Zelda, Metroid Prime, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Mario Sunshine, Pikmin....
Or buy boring, unoriginal, generic 3rd person shoot em up, action, adventure games. Or go on about Vice City - it's practically the only decent game on the PS2 and it's just a remake anyway.
Fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter whether Nintendo's first, second or third in the race. DO YOU SEE? It doesn't matter. They'll still have a big following with more dedicated fans than Sony's PS2. And as long as they keep on releasing original, inventive games, I'll keep on playing them.
As will most members of this forum except for the blatant fanboys. And we're all fanboys in one way or another - even people who own more than one console have a preference over one of the other. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? It's the games...IT'S THE GAMES...one man's meat is another man's poison...
Perhaps one of the reasons why GC games load quicker is the fact that most GC games are smaller in terms of Mb size. For example, if you take 2 identical PC's, and ask the first to load a 20Mb image, then ask the other PC to load up a 10Mb image - naturally the PC loading the 10Mb file will complete the task first.
As for compression, doing it do polygon based images is not so bad since the images are mostly made up from drawn images. Compressing pixel based images (FMV, "painted backgrounds", etc) however, removes some of the pixels and tries to hide this fact by a number of "smoothing" techniques. Compressing audio can also drop quality - even using digital audio source and digital (mathematical) compression. For example, When you take the music from a CD and convert it to MP3, some of the data code which makes up some of the fine detail in the music is lost. Once data is "lost" like this, it can not be put back in. So when the data is decompressed for use, the missing data can not be put back in.
Nintendo have got the best from carts and the best from CD's and
combined them in this disc. Oh and if you compress the Gamecube disc it is as large as a DVD if you compress it several times it can be larger... but you do not need to be that large.
Once again a Ninty fanboy trying to justify a duff format. Once upon a time there was a company called Nintendo that said there little disc where gonna take over dvd's and become the format of choice that one really materalised if you where lucky you might get the opening credits on a GC disc.
As for GC discs being bigger than dvd if you compress them you are sadly misinformed there is no way they could be bigger let alone the same size dvd 3 times bigger than GC discs dual layered dvd 5 adn half times bigger than GC disc.
Lets put this to bed now if the GC disc is so brilliant at compression why the hell is a game like Resident Evil split over two disc after all it is only a dressed up PSone game. I rest my case.
Why not get excited about Gamecube games, rather than launching on a pointless "how many people can I off today" topic.
Thank you.
Excited about what Gamecube games nothing I can see to get excited about, and the buying public seem to agree Nintendo offically 3rd place say's it all.
