Infact the PS2 version has extras, that are geared more towards the PS2 user as they demand more and have higher skill level, not my words but the actual developers comments.
Then again I can imagine that it's a hard game for Xbox users because of their poorly designed controllers.
Sure, little 12 year olds probably loved it because of all the violence and swearing, but more experienced gamers who wanted good gameplay were left sorely disappointed.
But, despite it being crap, all the zealots still went out and bought it.

He seems to have forgotten the fact that most copies of The Getaway and Vice City were bought by unwitting parents for their under 18 kids...
"Better lean against the wall to recover my health, then. Oh no, i can't lean here, I'm being shot at. Oh, I'm dead. Restart mission."
How does that work? Realistic? I don't think so. The mapping of London was technically proficient but that's about it. Poor controls, bizarre health recovery, strange police AI and "mockney" accents that were laughable.
Flawed.
> yeh i could see how it would be offensive to Nintendo's niche market
> you have to be 18 to play the game so that excludes every GC owner
> anyway, stick to Pikmin and Mario they are much more on your level.
Hahahaha.
Please don't ban Top Score ever. He gives us hilarious lines like the one above. ha!
Mario on a 4 years olds level. Ha! All GC users under 18. ha! Lets all laugh at the retard.
> how on earth is the Getaway rubbish! What are you on?
Rigid mission structure
Clunky and unresponsive on-foot player controls
The character runs *really* slowly
Worst in-game camera for years
Patchy A.I
Dull PS1 style textures
Poor frame-rate
vehicles are painfully slow, handle atrociously and have poor crash physics
No in-game map
I could go on, but it's bringing back all the horrible memories.
The guy walks along like he's logged himself.
> stick to Pikmin and Mario they are much more on your level.
Yep, superb game design, flawless playability, great challenge and lastability and lots of fun, all the things us Nintendo fans love...unlike The Getaway.
