Nintendo have been told by some heavyweight financial advisers that they should develop software for other platforms or face financial ruin.
It would appear that the poor GC sales are starting to bite with developers getting increasingly worried about the GC continued poor performance and the lack of software sold because of this.
Producing for Xbox and inparticular PS2 would add a much bigger user base up instead of the limited one they have now makes sense to me. If Nintendo was able to make more money from software they might be able to produce more quality titles rather than the tripe they do at the moment, hell it might even help Nintendo to sell more GC.
So when they are making more money than Sony as a whole, , and
microsoft- in terms of the x box, please explain to me where the
financial ruin comes inzelda, mario, metroid, animal crossing on ps2 and x box? u wish
Sounds like another scared Ninty fanboy this forum is the future of gaming not the past.
Why an earth would I wish for zelda and mario, metroid they are all sequels perhaps they should call in the Nintendo Sequel not GC.
It is so easy to pick holes in your so called facts. Nintendo are firmly in 3rd position now, the president has admited he is very concerned about the poor GC sales and that is was as mistake not to make the GC dvd based, and they under-estimated how popular dvd would become (duh any puppet could see that). Another problem is that Nintendo had to scale back their projected GC sales forecast and omitted theirselves that the GC came in a to low a price and that they were losing big money on every GC sold because of poor sales.
FACT.
Just because Nintendo have success on the handheld console market this does not represent the GC poor performance. Nintendo can only for so long flog a dead horse mind you they done it with the N64. I see Nintendo's future being a software developer for consoles and hardware developers of handheld consoles.

not u, the original poster,
or that other guy?
the one where microsoft lose about $100 on every console they sell, and the one where nitendo's yearly profits are greater than sonys, FACT!
so when they are making more money than Sony as a whole, , and microsoft- in terms of the x box, please explain to me where the financial ruin comes in??????
zelda, mario, metroid, animal crossing on ps2 and x box?????? u F**cking wish
Anyone worth their salt knows that Nintendo make some of the best games around. I've been playing their consoles since Sony brought out their own piece of technology which was the walkman! Hah ha Lol!
And so, Nintendo will remain a single-format company until they either decide to go on to new projects (i.e. away from gaming) or they become bankrupt, which wont be happening in the near future, that's for sure.
What do all you other dudes think?
Who's the biggest ripoff? The companies which originally sell their consoles for £300 then reduce them to around £160 when sales begin to slow, or the company that originally tries to retail their console at £150, gets told to put the price up to £170, but instead, reduces the price to £130?
hmm...
