Whitestripes, it appears you're wrong. Nintendo of the United Kingdom actually class The Wind Waker as an 'Action' game as well as an 'Adventure', proving that games can be multi-genre which proves that Zelda could also be classed as an RPG due to its content.
Nintendo Power, the magazine who runs the Nintendo of America website class The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker as just an 'Action' title.
